We had such a great time with the Sea to Summit Wine Tour team. Shaun was very informative, professional, and most importantly he was invested in us having a great experience.

Absolutely perfect day with our tour guide, Stan! He is Super knowledgeable and fun to hang out with! We had perfect weather, and that made the day even better. The 3 wineries we visited were good, but Monks gate took the gold star. The owner was very informative and passionate. We really appreciated being introduced to new flavors and wine making that we are not accustomed to.

I booked 2 tours about 2 weeks out directly with Sea to Summit after a lot of internet research and reading reviews. I often go through Viator, but wanted to ensure this company got all of my money. Bad choice. 2 days before our tour they called (I was on a work trip and unable to call back immediately or look at emails during the day and they did not use text for some reason) and informed me they moved my wine tour to a different day and told me they were trying to get me on another companies Mt. Hood tour bc not enough people signed up and they would lose money if they just took the two of us. After failing to find another tour with a competitor for us they offered to have us pay the same amount for just day rather than full day - again letting us know they would still be losing money on us. Ultimately I asked for a refund for Mt. Hood and was able to book a much cheaper tour with one of their competitors through Viator in a matter of minutes. The wine tour that I took with Sea to Summit was just ok. Guide hardly told us anything interesting (seemed to be mostly just a driver) and we spent an hour in line waiting to order our lunches - not sure why they cant figure out how to order ahead or just have us at a vineyard that serves food during the lunch time. We could have used that time to visit another vineyard. Only one vineyard had more than one wine that was actually any good. Kind of a bummer of a trip. I hoped to learn about the growing region and all of that. Not at all worth the money.

Shahn was the best tour guide! We took a turning 30 girls trip and Shahn went above and beyond for us! Great winery selections and knowledge and overall amazing energy. Extremely inclusive and has great photography skills. Definitely recommend!

I have used Sea to Summit twice, for wine tours, when family came to visit me from out of state. The owner, Josh, is flexible and responds quickly to all communication. Sean was our tour guide (by coincidence) both times and I was thrilled b/c he is like a human encyclopedia regarding all things Oregon. I am not a "wine" person, nor is my family, and we learned so much. By the end of my second tour, I have become more interested in understanding and tasting wine. If you have the ability to bring your own lunch, it works nicely to sit, eat and taste wine at one of the wineries. If you opt to buy lunch at one of the local cafe's Sea to Summit has a relationship with, they have delicious food which you can do the same with. So, either way works well. I will absolutely use Sea to Summit again when ever family comes to visit.

Business Response on Google Aug 27th, 2023
Dear Marnie,Sea to Summit always works very hard to accommodate all of our clients, including you! I actually sent out numerous emails to all the Portland Hotel Concierges several times leading up to your requested dates in a effort to match you up on a economical public tours. I assure you it was not from lack of trying when other people did not join the Mt Hood/Gorge tour on your particular date! To clarify, you requested two days in August Fri/11th and Sat/12th. Public tours are never confirmed until the required minimums are met and this is clearly explained in our FAQ and Terms & Conditions or by phone when we talk to clients. In your review you asked to be refunded and to clarify your card was never charged in the 1st place?Required tour minimums for public tours are a Industry standard with all companies. There are no companies that I know of that operate full day tours 8-9 hours of driving with just one or two people, they all have minimums, economically! That is why we changed your wine tour from 11th - 12th a date you did request so we could get you a solid confirmation. If this did not work for you we would of been happy to canceled it at anytime. We then provided you contact info for another company on your second tour and also offered a discounted private tour if you desired, which you declined.Shahn your guide/driver has been guiding tours for over 15 years and generally provides all kinds of info, typically receiving great reviews from other guests. So both he and i were a bit perplexed and sorry you felt this way about your tour. You also mention lunch being a issue and I agree lunch in the Northern Willamette valley is a issue and very limited. The one and only deli is Red Hills Market as the other deli we used for the past decade recently closed. Red Hills Market does not take pre orders for tour groups on weekends , but this again is beyond our control. In your review you say you were in line for a "hour" at the deli, I spoke to Shahn about this and then checked the GPS in the tour vehicle for that day. It was actually 23 minutes the vehicle was at the Red Hills Market, not a hour. Then, rather than having you wait at the deli for your lunch to be ready, Shahn kindly took you to the next winery, so you could begin your next tasting and went back to the deli to get your lunch for you.Actual GPS record of the Mercedes Sprinter on Aug/12th at Red Hills Market:(Ignition Off • 710 OR-99W,• Dundee, OR 97115, USASaturday, August 12 2023, 01:10:29 pmIgnition On • 710 OR-99W, © Dundee, OR 97115, USASaturday, August 12 2023, 01:33:25 pm)Furthermore, as far as having lunch at a winery, there are literally only two wineries that serve lunch within 30 miles of the area we were Touring and some may have overpriced charcuterie boards, but that would not be considered lunch for most of our clients. You also mentioned the wine not being acceptable and on this particular day we visited Monks Gate a small boutique winery owner/operated and many of our clients find the wine fantastic! Tori Mor and Rex Hill whom are larger and both have been making Oregon wine for over 40 years. Both wineries have also won many wine awards over the years and Rex Hills wines have on several occaisions been served at the White House for Presidential dinners... So I am very sorry you felt this way, as these are highly regarded Oregon wineries? We are a small company, owned and operated by native Portland Oregonian's, whom have been providing tours for decades, and we always try to provide our clients with best experience possible. It would of been nice if you would have called or emailed us directly about your experience so we could of understood, clarified and/or tried to find a resolution for you, before insulting and slandering our small business, and our local Oregon wineries with a online reviews. Thanks for your time, concern and for all those reading this, understanding~
