Holiday Inn Express & Suites Birmingham North - Fultondale, an IHG Hotel

I travel often for work. This was by far the worst experience I have ever had. The staff, as well as management, were horrible, rude, and not at all helpful. My room was dirty and it smelled bad. STAY AWAY!!!! So, after my bad review of this hotel I received a reply from the GM (Heather) stating my review was fake. Wow!!! She said I didn't stay - but I did. I arrived late and left early for meetings. Instead of her asking what she can do to make things better, she accuses me of being a fake. As I said before. Stay away!!!!

Our room was not cleaned properly. I asked for assistance. She said she was by herself but would clean it....we would lose money if we left and she said "I have no where else to put you....However, she didn't not do what she said. I went back down to ask why she didn't change the bedding like she said. She said ma'am you are being difficult. I cleaned , t and it was only hair from housekeeping on the bed. I sai ", I don't know whose hair it was So do not ask me to be okay with it because you and I are not the same...she said okay, I will fix i"t. She continued to talk while raising her tone, so I mimiced her behavior to make her aware. She pointed at me. I asked her not to point at me. She said, "Do not get in my face. I'm calling Fultondale police. You need to leave. I said, and I'll get my uncle he's a Marshall. I went to get my family so we could leave. My son was traumatized by this racist experience. As we we were leaving out the door. She walked up with sheets and said I will fix the bed...Another discussion happened....We were prepared to leave, she said well you will have to pay..asked us to leave the room again while she fixed it due to fearing for her life.......while leaving it she said I sorry I did my best I'm not housekeeping. The sheet was hanging on the floor. I sent my boys to my mom's room......If you come across this lady, go Back out the door. She is literally a modern-day Jekyll and Hyde. I left so many details out.....it is okay to be willing to fix small issues instead of projecting personal beliefs on paying customers.... Update...discussed matter with the manager Heather. She stated she is willing to make improvements and changes where necessary. All other family member rooms were very Clean, but not sure how that one was missed. My family has used this facility over the years with no problems.
