    Just want clarify that an older comment is incorrect. The Japanese never held this islands at all. Even then, the islands they did hold in the Aleutians were recaptured by American forces. Nothing here was ever held by them for the entire war.

    It was amazing to see the remnants of military equipment and structures. This place also has a great view of the harbor. Its also very peaceful at the top facing out into the sea. Keep in mind to get up to the bunkers you have to climb up a small mountain. So lots of walking. Its not so bad after being at sea for so long.
