Have been taking my dog here for 10 years now. For my next appointment to get in the door, they said if I paid more money then the sooner I could be seen.... Would not recommend

While our recent visit to VCA TLC was filled with sadness due to the unexpected passing of our beloved Mojo Jojo, I want to express our utmost gratitude to the caring team who provided compassionate care during a difficult time. Audrey, Zach, and Dr. Min treated us and our beloved Mojo Jojo with respect and dignity, making a difficult experience slightly easier to bear. Their genuine care and understanding will never be forgotten. Id like to add an additional special shoutout to Audrey and Zach for their kindness. To Audrey for preparing Mojos paw print and final fur cut as a keepsake and also for her warmth and kindness throughout our tearful goodbye. Zach was also very understanding of us taking our time in saying goodbye. Audrey and Zach both seem like excellent, genuine people and we are very grateful that they are in the world and helping care for pets.

A few months ago, as we were very new to LA, my little cockapoo started throwing up. On the first day I didnt think too much of it, on the 2nd day I called my vet at home that told me to try medication and if that didnt work I needed to take her to a vet in LA. On the 3rd day, I got home from work and she had thrown up the pill, and more concerning there was blood in the throw up. I called a few vets to see if they could get me in (most hadnt closed yet) and all said no. I then called MASH and then this VCA. The other place wanted $1more (~$190) (the just to be seen fee - not diagnosed - is outrageous at both emergency clinics) but they said they couldnt guarantee my baby would be seen. When I called VCA they said it was a roughy 1 hour wait or more but that I would be seen. I was seen in less than an hour, and the whole time from the frantic phone call (on my end) to walking out with my pup was met with such kindness, calm, and knowledge employees at VCA. My pup received anti-nausea medication, A subcutaneous IV to rehydrate her, and a medication to coat her sore throat as it was raw and sore (hence the blood) from throwing up for 3 days. They sent me home with 2 drugs (anti-nausea & throat coating), instructions on how to use the medications and side-effects, some soft food for her sore throat, and a little bag to hold it all. In total I spent $500 for the visit. Pros: Location (for me) Clean inside Caring and kind staff Calm staff Knowledgeable doctors Not TOO pushy on additional services (like X-Rays). Too no thank just fine. Able to see my dog in less than an hour (when I went at least) Cons: Cost $$$ - just to be seen was around $189 I believe. That doesnt include medication, exam, etc. Parking - has free parking lot but it is very small and shared so not a lot of spaces. There is street parking, but can be a bit difficult to find. I was fortunate enough that there was a space open in the lot when I arrived. Overall, in an emergency I would take my dog here. But I would follow up to those with the very bad reviews here - ALWAYS GET A SECOND OPINION! You know your pet best. If you feel that the first diagnosis is wrong/doesnt feel right, get a 2nd, or even 3rd opinion.
