Unchained financial did an amazing job helping me with my taxes. Im a first time home buyer and had a complex tax burden I was not expecting. Unchained managed to save me a significant amount of money with little effort on my part. I will use them from now on. I highly recommend them to everyone and can say confidently they will make your life better and safe you stress, time and money. Thank you!

STAY AWAY!!! I hired Unchained for my personal and small business tax returns but ended up hiring another accountant after several months of waiting and not receiving anything.Our first contact was on May 17th, 2021, and we filed an extension. For several weeks, I followed up to check in, only to repeatedly receive an email saying everything would be done soon and nothing would happen. Then in June, Melissa tells me she has been sick for several weeks, which helped explain things but when I asked if I should find another CPA, she insisted she could get it done. So I waited, waited, and waited until August (so almost 3 months in total) and she did send me my business tax return, but NOT my personal, which I needed to see the whole picture since I'm self-employed. I couldn't wait any longer, so I told her we were just going to find another CPA, who finished my returns in less than a week, and she agreed that that was the best course of action as well.I wasn't going to leave a Yelp review but felt I should warn others. The straw that broke the camel's back was that I asked Melissa for confirmation that my tax return deadline was extended and she didn't reply. Maybe I'm a one-off case, but I found Melissa extremely unhelpful and unprofessional.I also noticed if you search "Unchained Financial Services" on Yelp there are 6+ results?? (Pictured below). Super shady and I would stay away from this company.

Melissa was great to work with and very responsive to all my questions and concerns. She was very professional and very knowledgeable in the tax field. In addition to doing my 2020 taxes, she took it upon herself to review my 2019 taxes and file an amendment to get me more of a refund and did not charge me any extra. The price was a very good value. I would highly recommend Melissa and Unchained Financial Services.
