For Brandy! One of the most important decisions is where to take your family when an emergency arrives. I'm 62 and have had many many pets, animals and horses in my lifetime. I have never had a more devastating and horrible experience in my lifetime as I had on June 7th, 2023 when my Brandy was taken from me by the Vet AT THIS FACILITY. I arrived about 2 am as Brandy the last two weeks had been throwing up a lot, been a little slower than her normal frisbee catching self and cuddling I did sense her breathing heavier at times, of course after activity and our mile long walks in the woods at age eight not a total major concern. I had booked her an appointment at our Vet but without playing an unusual thud when laying down in the middle of the night was not my Brandy! My instinct is something was not right and have no idea why I felt this she got up and moved to the office and her breathing was labored feeling like she had gotten into something, not her first accident she needed surgery and stitches across her chest from forever pets in 2021. So I decided to take her to emergency after midnight instead of waiting till 10 am, this will turn out to be the worst decision of my life! There was no paperwork, just Brandy gone through the door and placed in a 5 x 7 room enough for standing while I'm advised she had fluid on her lungs and would need to remove it a quote of $650.00 to $2300.00 given as a quote and a need for payment of minimum upfront! Jessica Russell claims to have 15 years of experience but never was I addressed by name nor my pet, I suppose had I filled out any paperwork this may have been known. Never did she meet me eye to eye but stared at the wall as if reading a eye chart. She as I tried to advise had been not herself for two weeks and had drank idle water from the backyard and on possible walks and asked about a chicken bone or other toxic items for dogs Jessica only mimic me back with Chicken bones and belittled me. She advised me the dog had been this way for a long time, which was now only thirty minutes. She dictated that Brandy will not make it till the morning after her removal of fluid and took us to see her. Brandy a large 65 lbs dog was stuffed into a oxygen tank meant possibly for a medium dog she was propped up with a pillow as she was unable to lay down or sit up . The room was more of a hallway with cages on each side and the surgical table in front of the tank where she was obviously operated on in an unsterile environment with a attendant and a white and black bulldog on the floor across from Brandy that you had to step over and not step on to even look at her and pet her. I asked to take her home and was denied access to take or remove my dog from the facility. Even though the tank was too small and the Bulldog laying unable to walk or stand on the floor with an attendant must have just been pulled from the tank to place Brandy in for the view obviously needed it more. After several attempts to have Brandy discharged and claims she would not make it till morning Jessica advised now that she had Cancer, without a test to support and now claims that the bill would be 4K to 8K for Kimo, tests and treatment and she will need to pay that in advance or minimum 4K half of the estimate, she went on to advise that this was just a jumping off point and this would not be the total cost for her treatment. No Offense but my daughter has cancer, my father passed in 2018 from cancer. they had a right to choose when to have tests run when affordable it was not dictated by a emergency Doctor whom did not know them give them previous care or that you TRUST. She further tapped her pocket with view of two syringes where she informed us that since she felt Brandy would not be strong enough for treatment she can place her back to sleep as she did with surgery and then kill her with the second syringe! There should be no reason to do this to any human or canine you do not know us or our resilience. To dictate over 8K of treatment without a single test to support your guess! I was given less than 30 seconds as both syringes were placed into Brandy and as she pushed her way around Brandy now strapped to a gurney like luggage on top of a car in this little 5 x 7 room. This Facility when choosing color for a name missed the mark. Soylent Green Veterinaries would advise of the lack of care and clearly give the view of where your pet will end up if you do not cave into the extortion attempts of the doctor's themselves after less than a hour with your loved one. If you check the Facebook Page of the Doctor claiming to have 5 years experience she started school in 2012 unless she came back from the future this is not possible which clearly makes her a liar and not someone to trust and unless in a emergency would not have been someone I'd place my trust in for my family member. She killed my best friend with cancer claims!

My experience at the clinic was excellent in all aspects except the long wait (3+hrs).

If I could give no stars here I would. We took our 12-year-old dog here knowing it was probable that we would have to put her to sleep. It was a weekend, so this was not our normal vet office. Unfortunately, we were correct and did have to put her to sleep that day. We requested a private cremation for many reasons and even went as far as explaining to the vet and staff our plans for her ashes. We paid for this additional service, and we were told in 2 weeks we would have her remains. Two weeks came and I hadn't heard from them about picking up the ashes. I called in to ask and immediately knew something was wrong. They were being very vague and kept putting me on hold to finally say the manager wasn't here and they would call me tomorrow. Come to find out, they put the wrong "tag" on her, and she was cremated in a "group" and her ashes were supposedly spread in a field. We were gutted. They were indifferent and had an attitude like, "Oh well, mistakes happen." To make matters worse I requested her medical records because now I was questioning everything. As I started reading them the inaccuracies were everywhere. All of the notes they wrote were wrong and it made me feel like either they don't listen or pay attention...or care. Nothing made sense. People bring their pets here because they are parts of your family. My husband and I had her for the entirety of our relationship. To be just told, "Whoops" was beyond upsetting. The way they handled everything was horrible and insensitive. They wouldn't answer our calls or emails. The worst service I have ever experienced. How can you trust someone with your pet if they cannot even put the correct tag on an animal.

I brought my 4lb chihuahua to Blue pearl emergency animal hospital in jacksonville (south side) for bloody diarrhea and dehydration, what I found out later to be HGE (from my regular, trusted vet). The receptionist was great, and yes, they immediately took my dog to the back. Then they FORGOT her for 3hrs, providing no treatment except oxygen, bc “they got busy with emergencies,“ in other words, they didn’t consider her an emergency. Truth was, she was one of highest priorities since any fluid loss in such a small animal carries a high risk of death. When they did “treat” her, all they did were tests, most being irrelevant to her condition- such as x-rays on her lungs instead of her gastric system- they were more focused on making money off tests than providing emergency care. The rest of their “treatment” consisted of useless meds: b-12, puppy pepto, pain relief, and 1 subQ injection of saline (when I left) while what she NEEDED was to be immediately placed on an IV to help her recover from the shock she was suffering from the blood and fluid loss. After waiting close to 7HOURS I requested to take her home- against vet advice, as they wanted to keep her over night for MORE tests and might then start an IV. I did not let her stay. She was in severe shock when I received her back and passed away before the next morning. To be clear- it may have been too late for her to have been saved, even with the IV. BUT if they had treated my Aspen like the REAL emergency that she was and been focused on actual care rather than money there’s a chance she could be with me now.
