I highly recommend Pete Jalbert as what I believe is the best realtor on Maui. Why do I say such a bold statement? I have been here for 16 years and Pete (along with his brother Billy) know this markets nuanced details and pitfalls better than anyone I know. He is a student of the market and his knowledge if vast in breadth and depth. There was hardly a time I asked him a question, and I asked a lot of questions, that he have a very detailed and wise answer. Maui is different than other markets and there are many opportunities for costly mistakes. Pete helped me avoid all of them. Pete is also 1000% committed to me finding the home of my dreams rather than settling or buying something that I later might have buyers remorse about. Pete was great in always pointing out the good and bad so that I would make a great decision. I trust his honesty, forthcoming-ness and integrity above any other I have met in the industry here on Maui, or anywhere. FIVE STARS! ***** The Maui Real Estate Team, and Pete Jalbert in particular, have been an invaluable resource and help to us in buying and selling properties here on Maui. Starting with our first purchase of a rental property back in 2006 when we still lived on the mainland, Pete has always been friendly, professional and very easy to work with; he worked hard from the start to help us find the property that was right for us. Pete was always there to advise and represent us through all the negotiations and paperwork needed to make our dreams come true. Pete went on to assist us with six more transactions including buying and selling the condo for our primary residence as well as a condo for our son. Five years ago he found us the perfect house in Kihei that we now call home. Most recently, it became apparent it was time to truly retire and Pete helped us with the sale of our rental condo that he originally worked with us to purchase 15 years ago. Everything could not have gone smoother with the sale nor been easier. Shortly after we contacted Pete to discuss selling the condo, he arranged for a professional photo shoot including a 3-D virtual tour and had the property on the market and sold in record time, managing multiple simultaneous offers and responses in a timely manner. The process is much easier than it was 15 years ago thanks to automated signing of documents online, and other improvements such as mobile notary services, but the things that haven't changed are the outstanding personalized service and professionalism provided by Pete and the Maui Real Estate Team. I was thinking of purchasing a second home in Hawaii and reached out to Pete @ Maui Real Estate Team. At the time, I was open to various ideas, which created a lot of options (which island? what style of property? location within the island? price/performance? and so on). Pete educated us with great patience and an abundance of information. Incredible as it sounds, he is knowledgeable about, well, ... everything. He could talk about the pros/cons of each neighborhood - rainfall, traffic, solitude, short term renters vs. community, appreciation, etc. He was great at helping us narrow down our choices. When it came time to offer, Pete could talk about each property in depth, and discuss potential wins and pitfalls. He was on top of the offers, he had a detailed spreadsheet of timelines, and had great connections to various inspectors, utilities, contractors etc. to expedite the J-1 process. He is really prompt with emails / texts, and I never felt that I had to wait for a response from him. With Pete, I never felt rushed or pressured. I felt that he had our best interests at heart. I would recommend Pete wholeheartedly and without reservation.
