CORE Apartments

The apartments themself are beautiful but the management for the core apartments is what puts this building over the top for me! Jennie & Macie have made me feel so at home!

Lived here since 2021 and move new year 2024. Property is nice (but dog poo everywhere around the building), have to give low rating since they have not returned back my deposit. It has been 2 months since I moved, and they seem to not be doing anything to return my deposit. And it's a big money too ($500) so its a pretty big deal to me. Every time I called, they only say the accounting is working on it and that they can't do anything more to make sure it is sent to the tenant. They be so quick to make sure tenant pay rent on time (which i always do) but when it's their turn to return back my money they be so slow for no reason...smh

My wife and I have lived at Core Apartments since August 2022 and have felt it has been a great place to live. The best part about this building are the amenities (coffee bar, game room, grill, heated garage with a small car washing station, small enclosed turf patch for dogs, and a small gym). You will have to pay extra for the garage though. The construction of our unit was just ok. There were signs of rushed work/repairs but nothing that was an obvious eyesore (small paint splatters on the floor around the trim, screws in drywall without drywall anchors). The building hallways are poorly painted, but that is all visual, no physical issues. The bedrooms are carpeted and the living area/kitchen are vinyl hardwood. We didnt have many maintenance requests, but when we did, the issues were fixed relatively quickly. Noise levels were very manageable. Rarely heard next door neighbors. The only thing we heard was what sounded like furniture being moved in the unit above us a few days per week. Im leaving the review at 5 stars but could have taken away 1 star because of the dog waste. There are signs, trash cans, and provided waste bags, making it obviously encouraged to clean up after your dog but it is not enforced. The grass is covered in it and it is annoying to constantly step around/have to clean someone elses dogs poop off your shoes later :) If you go to Iowa State/take the bus, there is a bus stop right across the street where the Red East, Cherry, and Purple routes all stop making it pretty much a 5 minute wait at the most for a bus to pick you up. Average monthly utility prices for two people: Water: $35 Sewer: $12 Electricity: $50 Garbage: $10 Service Fee: $5 (conservation fee not credit card fee) Internet is included from ICS at 50 mb/s up and down. Internet stability is pretty good. Not amazing but not the worst Ive ever had. Upgrade options are available: 100 Mb/s $10 150 Mb/s $15 250 Mb/s $25 500 Mb/s $35 1 Gb/s $45 Overall the building, location, and management have been very good to us and Id recommend it to anyone who is interested if you are willing to pay a little more than nearby complexes to get a few more amenities compared to their competition.

This is the worst management ever. I tried to live at a different property owned by them last year and it took 3 months to get the lease. They just didnt care. Ended up going somewhere else and couldnt be happier. Also, some of their employees that told me I would have the lease this week multiple times have rated this 5 stars.
