We've been coming here for years for little mini getaways and we've always had a great stay. We have always enjoyed the pool and the atrium and the games. It's always been a nice little spring break getaway for us. We have always gone during Spring break too. It's always been busy. We know this. But it has never been an issue until this trip. We brought our 17yr old twins here for spring break. We just needed to get away and relax. Didn't have any plans. Just relax in the pool and hot tub and spend some time together. Play air hockey, ping pong, have a couple nice dinners, etc. It's been a rough year and our kids are 17 now. I don't know how much longer they will want to hang with the old people. To say this hotel was busy would be an understatement. The atrium was so crowded that there were absolutely no tables to sit at. A huge group was here together and they completely monopolized the whole pool area. The parents were drinking, which is fine, but they weren't watching the kids, who were running all over the hotel. 11pm and all I heard was the pounding of kids footsteps running down the hall above us. We spent $500 for 2 rooms for 2 nights and didn't get to use the pool or hot tub once. I was crushed. We were hoping we'd get to take advantage of the hot tub during adult swim hour but no. The hot tub was full of adults from this group, I mean, full... and there were still kids in the pool. This group completely ruined our trip. I'm so disappointed. I don't know what the answer is but maybe don't book such large groups? Were they even staying at the hotel? Maybe limit their pool time so that other guests could utilize the facilities? I'm really hoping my kids will go away with us again. Even though they are older. I'd hate to think that this was our last mini trip together and it sucked. Previous review from 5years ago. We were looking for a quick getaway for Spring break. Nothing fancy. Just get away and relax with our kids by a pool. My parents recommended this hotel. They had taken our kids here 2ce before for a little getaway. My mom was right... As they usually are. :) This was the perfect hotel. We requested a room off the pool, per my mom's recommendation. We were a little afraid that it would be loud, but it wasn't. The pool closes at 10. It was super nice to open the door and be right at the pool. The pool is huge. Which is exactly what we were looking for. It goes from 3ft on one end up to 9ft on the other. Perfect. The rooms are very clean. The bed is comfortable. The breakfast was really good. Eggs, pancakes, cereal, yogurt, cinnamon rolls, potatoes, sausage, coffee, orange juice, apple juice, bagels. Breakfast is served until 9:30. The staff was super friendly. My only complaint would be the flooring around the pool is very rough on your feet. Actually hurts to walk on it. Not a deal breaker by any means. I'll just remember to pack swim shoes for us next time. The restaurant nearby is Old Chicago. It's expensive but convenient. Not the best but it's good. We will definitely be back.
