I left in tears- the young man man who took me back to interview/test me was so unprofessional and rude. He didnt greet me, didnt ever look at me, mumbled the whole time so Id have to ask him to repeat himself then would angrily raise his voice at me when he had to repeat his question or command. Ive never in my 40+ years been treated so poorly at a medical establishment. This guy obviously was miserable and did not want to be there- he needs to be let go immediately. When I realized he would be the one drawing my blood I panicked and left in tears- I didnt feel even remotely safe with him touching me after the way he had treated me up to that point. I am a prime candidate for blood donation and I will never go back to this place ever again.

I donate plasma every 4-6 weeks as I am a universal plasma donor (AB+), plus I've had issues trying to donate platelets. Over the years, the only problems I've had are with an incorrectly set IV (which they would have gladly fixed, but I gutted it out), a mix-up as to what I was donating (plasma vs. platelets), and a lack of COVID protocols early in the pandemic (addressed since then).Setting up an appointment is easy on-line, or you can call, or answer one of their texts or phone calls. A reminder text comes in 1-2 days before. It's easy to re-schedule if you need to (as well as polite to do so).I typically arrive 5 minutes before my appointment. Check-in at the front desk is easy, and a nurse typically brings me back within 5-10 minutes. Ideally you fill out your donor survey before you come in, as it saves time for you and the nurse. They get your vitals (BP, iron count, pulse, temp, weight), check to see which vein the want to tap, and then bring you to your padded, reclined chair to start the process. I typically read a book on my phone, but you can also use a chair-side TV to watch Netflix, or tap into their free wifi.Blood donations only take 30 minutes, whereas plasma is an hour (for me at least, but I'm slow), and platelet donations can take multiple hours. The nurse will let you know how you're doing along the way. My biggest gripe is that my nurse typically changes over the course of an hour as shifts end or someone goes on break.Afterward, partake of the free cookies and drinks (I'm partial to the M+M cookie with a bottle of chocolate milk, but there are lots of options) to rehydrate a bit before you head back into the world, knowing that you've given a little something of yourself for others.

Always a great experience. I donate double red, and they are ready when you arrive for your appointment time and have always been accommodating throughout the process.
