Wont be taking any of my animals here any longer. I do not trust the vets opinion. We took our dog in because she was limping in December 2023. She told us she had a torn ACL and needed a $5,000 surgery within the next 3 months. She did this after telling us her knee was perfectly stable but claimed the X-rays showed fluid build up and a very thin ACL. She also decided to try and convince us that our 3 year old doodle had hip dysplasia. She kindly printed out a 20 page document about the surgery and told us to call the surgeon as she would be there in the next few weeks. How convenient. Took our dog for 2 other opinions, 1 in st Charles and 1 in Washington. Both second opinions told us the Pet Doctor was full of it and she had a perfectly healthy ACL nor did she have any signs up hip dysplasia. She had minor fluid build up and that was it from the injury. Turns out our dog over stretched her leg causing her Patella Luxation. Her knee ligament was basically popping out of place and you could feel it with your hands. They both recommend 2 months of leashed only exercise and Cosequin. Followed their orders and our dog has been running around fine without issues for 2 months now. Blows my mind that a vet could be that far off with a diagnosis and recommended an extremely invasive surgery (they cut the bones and alter the knee anatomy permanently) on a 3 year old dog after a single 20 minute visit. She prescribed that surgery knowing fully well that our dog would then need the other leg done within the year. If you care about your animal you should always get second opinions. They have done fine with simple services such as vaccines but past that I dont trust them.
