        We arrived early on the day of the eclipse. We called in advance to see if they allowed early check ins, and they said theyd allow it. We did arrive earlier than expected and the front desk said they had a room ready. Our room was pretty dirty. First of all, it was about 90* and very humid and smelly when we opened the door. I turned the AC on and started my usual inspection.( Its 2024, all hotels are a bit gross now. So I check mattress, wipe countertops, etc.) This room was dusty. Even areas in plain sight, like under & around the TV and microwave. There was someones leftover Chinese in the fridge (smelly room issue solved). The shower didnt look like it had been cleaned. Shampoo dripping down the wall and there was a wad of hair in the drain. Im not one to complain in situations that are easily fixed so I just tidied up myself. The front desk lady was super kind during check in and overall the hotel has been pretty quiet. I think the cleaning staff were probably just busy trying to deal with the eclipse crowd and that would explain the missed food and quick clean job. The dust though. Thats been there awhile.
