The subdivision itself is nice. Great location, and amazing neighbors However, the builder, not so much! Weve lived here for 1.5 years and have had many issues. Here are just a few examples: -When we built the house, the floor plan slightly changed. So our original paperwork of the layout that we signed showed an included light fixture in the front bonus room. The new papers they gave us, showed that light as an add on, which we would have paid for if we were informed of the change(or mistake?). Noone caught this until after drwall was already done, so nothing could be done. -The only option they offer for paint is a flat finish so a year into living here, the walls are gross,scuffed, paint scratched, etc. not durable and not sure why we werent able to pick a better finish. -The flooring is cheap! We upgraded to the most expensive carpet pad they offered, and upgraded our carpet. Yet, its flat, and there are tons of divots felt, where the carpet doesnt seem to be evenWe also upgraded to water resistant flooring and it is warped in many many places.any time water has been spilt, its cleaned up seconds after. I understand if water sat there for a while but its not good quality... - Our biggest complaint, our driveway!! Its absolutely unacceptable! Its pretty embarrassing that our subdivision has a bad reputation for driveway quality. They have replaced multiple driveways in our subdivision, but have yet to replace ours when ours is by far the worst. The whole driveway is pitted, and crumbles more anytime its rained or driven on.. the neighbors joke that its a gravel driveway. Payne (now Fischer) claims its from a harsh winter/salt. I understand concrete cracks and chips but there is no reason our driveway should be in the state that it's in after barely 1 year. My husband works from home and I stay home with our kids, we rarely leave the house. This is not a result of tracking salt on our driveway from the roads. Its also by the front door. Based off their claim, we must have tracked salt from driving up the walkway and front porch.LOL. It has now become a safety hazard for my children. I was told that the driveway falls under quality standards(before anyone even came to look at it!!) I wish I would have known that this is what their standards look like! Everyone thats come to our house can tell you this is terrible quality Unfortunately, after talking to many neighbors, based off their experiences, this will continue to drag on (longer than the 2+ months its already been thus far) until they acknowledge the poor job and fix it. Over all, if you dont care about paying high prices for a low quality job, go ahead and build with payne. Otherwise, Id stay far away!
