The hotel is a beautiful boutique hotel in the heart of Buffalo. The rooms are luxurious and give a sort of gatsby vibe. However the IPad that worked for controlling our rooms features was not working and we told them this immediately. We upgraded to a corner suite and couldnt even open the blinds to enjoy the view. One of the panels to the bathroom area was missing which definitely cheapened the entire vibe. I also found long blonde hairs in our shower which was not so good. We called for robes and for the rooms temperature to be fixed (it was 77 when we arrived.) They were quick to reset the room but again the control pad was not working all night. We didnt get the robes so we had to go and grab them ourselves from front desk and describe the issue again. We had a great dinner HUGE portions and the service was lovely. The dinner was at ChezAmis which is home of the famous rotating bar. That never rotated which was odd. We talked to the Bartender and she said it would rotate but it never did. The hot springs were a cool feature and at night it looked very pretty again small details but one of the fire torches is out and fixing these things to maintain the grounds is imperative. We ended up getting a new room and finally got to enjoy the features we were after, a glass of champagne while the curtains were open in our robes. The panel for the corner suite was not broken in this room and everything but the temperature worked. My thought was why wouldnt they have put us here first? Unpacking and packing is not relaxing, and neither is calling to change the temperature when you need.

This is a hotel that has some really great things and some not so great things. The hotel decor is beautiful, and there are fun details and decorations everywhere you look. They had a rotating rooftop bar, which we didn't explore because we don't drink. The service was excellent. Everyone was friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. The complimentary breakfast was nice, and there were some nice features in the bathroom, including various shower settings that were very modern and posh. The pillows and the bed were a complete nightmare. Had a wretched sleep. The features in the room were kind of dingy and old. The cleanliness of their "hot spring" (an indoor-outdoor hot tub) left something to be desired. The towels in the hot springs did not smell fresh. Our room was very noisy at night, and we heard all our neighbors yelling and partying through the bathroom vents. Also, for some reason the screens on our in room tablet and our telephone were very bright and I had to cover them with items of clothing because for some reason they would not dim. There was also a green flashing smoke/carbon monoxide detector positioned directly over the bed, which was also annoying. I think this is a good "Instagram Hotel". You will get treated very nicely, and have fun at the two bars if you like to drink. But the quality of the rooms are well below the amount you pay. Value for money is very poor. Stay somewhere else. Shout to the amazing valets! It's not unfixable. An upgrade to the rooms and a strong cleansing would vastly improve the experience.

(March 2024) first time back in a while. Theyve kept up maintenance pretty well but def showing its age some since my last visit. The shower in the rooms is still my favorite thing , the epitome of luxury. And with the beeman products. Enjoyed the hot springs pool as well minus the dad bringing his little kids in even though theres clearly a sign on the entrance saying no kids. The workout room is small but nice, good equipment but definitely warm in there. We didnt eat at the restaurant but ordered dessert there and they offered to bring it up. My apologies on thinking they were Sysco frozen bought desserts, as the hotel has since responded that they are made in house, they just very much tasted and looked like Sysco desserts; they were just very sugary, not my preference for desserts but some you like some you dont. The bed was comfy and the staff was nice. Enjoyed our visit. (2019) Stunning hotel. Definitely worthy of its 5 star luxury hotel rating. Stayed here as a staycation when I could snag it for cheaper. The hot springs pool is luxurious and relaxing. You walk into the room and it just immediately wraps you in warmth and pampering. Best shower ever (super fancy high tech too lol) plus beekman bath products. Super comfy bed. Theres a button that opens and closes the curtains. This place makes you feel fancy and important but comfortable (not snooty here at all). Worth the stay if you can. And enjoy a meal at the restaurant. Lots of great spots to eat in buffalo but if youre feeling lazy and dont want to go out, chez amiss a solid option.
