It is hard for me to put into words the extreme positive impact Samantha has had on my personal growth and development for the past year and a half that I have been working with her. I will start by saying that finding a therapist that you personally like and trust is difficult! Samantha was the third therapist I tried, and I was starting to lose hope. After my first session with her, I knew that the universe sent me her way for a reason. Aside from being an extremely caring person, Samantha's clinical knowledge and life experience has been extremely helpful in my own growth. Samantha has helped me to self-reflect and make sense of the difficulties in my life. We work together every week to compartmentalize my thoughts, reframe my way of thinking for the better, and improve my overall happiness. Samantha is someone that I will lean on for the rest of my life, and I am forever grateful for her!

Do extensive research before you go there. I found this place through my insurance. When I first called up the office, I spoke with the office manager and she paired me up with a therapist. The therapist seemed young but I started having my sessions with her. After several months of meeting, she told me that she would not be taking my insurance anymore. I was confused because the practice was billing my insurance and I have been only paying a co-pay. She then explained to me that once she was licensed, then she wouldn't take my insurance. As it turns out, this therapist was not licensed yet and she working towards her license, meaning she was using my sessions to get her hours in to get certified. This was not disclosed to me in the beginning or anytime during the session. This was highly unethical because during my sessions, I had explained how important it was financially to find a therapist that takes my insurance. This was just my experience. My son also had a bad experience. My "therapist" said there was a therapist in the practice that could help my son with ADHD. My son was seeing another therapist that didn't take our insurance. Since this place took my insurance initially, I decided to give it a try. Again, the office manager got in touch with me, not Dr. Nelson. I specifically asked for a therapist with experience in CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) for my son. I was paired with a social worker. He told me he had experience in CBT. I think he lied to me because during my son's 6th session he told us "he doesn't think he can help my son therapeutically and my son is a good kid" I know my son is a good kid, he has ADHD and he needs coping mechanisms, he doesn't have behavioral issues. If he had the training that he said he has, then he would know how to treat my son. We never went back to him and took my son back to his old therapist. Even if we have to pay out of pocket, at least we knew he was getting the right help. This happened before I found out my therapist lied to me. I continued my sessions with my therapist because she was good, but she should have been honest from the start. If anyone goes here, do extensive research, ask specific questions about their qualifications and insurance and if they are licensed or working towards their license.

About
Glacier Psychology Services, PLLC

Glacier Psychology Services exists as a result of my work with children, adolescents and their families, where I have often felt “stuck” in a culture that fails to meet the mental health needs of our community. Treatment at Glacier focuses on overall health and well-being.

Our clinicians take the time to  get to know the individuals we are working with, by looking beyond surface level symptoms and behaviors. At Glacier, you’ll get a therapist committed to your overall well-being and driven to find the most effective therapeutic approaches for your specific needs.

We provide counseling services for children as yound as 3 y.o. all the way through adulthood. We specialize in working with children, teens, young adults and families. Our treatment team will create a personlized approach for each individual which may incluse a combination of therapy services (individual, family, group or couples counseling). We do not yet offer medication management services or psychological testings.
