Horrible company to work for. The amount of onboarding for this job is crazy compared to anywhere I've ever been, and I knew that was a huge red flag but I really wanted to get back into case management. Not only that, but it's been TWO MONTHS since I was hired, without a single case offered to me in my area I was hired for. They hired me for an entire city of thousands and thousands of needy people, and then ghosted me completely for two months, then sent an extremely rude message telling me it's MY fault for not taking something outside of the area I WAS HIRED FOR. So I was hired FOR this city, but it's my fault? This place is so unprofessional I can't comprehend it. If they treat the employees like this, I wouldn't trust them with my family.

Ive worked for KFS just shy of 4 years and recently decided to leave the company. During these years, I met amazing people and learned a lot about the IDD population. The internal staff in the RI office are a dream to work with. Very seldom do you meet a genuine group of people who enjoy coming to work everyday and strive to make a difference. Thats what kept me in the position for years. Granted, I have gone through 3 groups during my time here, each leaving due to the lack of support given from the higher ups. The home offices are based in PA. The down side to this is that there is such a clear divide between offices. The Higher ups believe that processes should be streamlined across the board, but being in different states makes that nearly impossible. During COVID, I was asked to cover recruiting for not only the RI program, but the Massachusetts programs as well. Yes, I was ASKED, but in reality, they expected it. So I began to overwhelm myself with work due to lack of support and knowledge surrounding the MA programs. Essentially, I had slides and job descriptions sent to me and left to recruit with no help. I did this with ease, but also with little to no recognition and again, support. I received ONE raise my entire tenure, and this was only because I was promoted a year into my position. Never heard or received another bump in pay since. When I began struggling with recruiting due to lack of recruiting platforms, little to no applicants and the agencies all around inability to see that the world around us has changed, I began to be babysat. Essentially, I became a glorified telemarketer trying to sell a position to people who simply did not want to work. Due to new guidelines per the state of RI, the clinical coordinators should have received a pay increase, instead, the higher ups simply found a way around it. External staff are now being paid close to what most internal staff are. This is extremely unfair/unsettling that theyd go to these heights to avoid pay good people decent salary. The lack of diversity within the company is also a huge part of my reasoning behind leaving. Quite frankly, I was approached more than once being told certain clients didnt want a black person as a staff. Being the only colored person within the office, I was very uncomfortable with the request, but expressed my concerns with the Program Director at the time. None of which were ever addressed afterwards. When I returned from an extended leave, there was a new Director of Recruiting put in place. This woman simply enjoys making the lives of those who work within the company hell. She micromanages to the point where you simply cannot do your job, sends constant back to back emails, and most importantly, questions why Directors applaud their employees for a job well done. She lacks the ability to motivate those around her by simply saying good job Once this review goes up, I am sure there will be someone (like posted above) who the agency will ask to post a positive review in response to mine. I worked there at the time where a coordinator saw a negative review and reached out to a current staff asking to post something nice that goes against what was already posted prior. If youre looking for a place to work that provides flexibility in your schedule, Kaleidoscope is the place. If youre looking for somewhere to work that supports you, motivates you, provides inclusion and truly strives to make a difference, please look elsewhere because you will NOT find that there. There is plenty more I can say but Ill leave that for a different review.
