I brought 2 kittens in to be tested for giardia. I've been rescuing, fostering and adopting out cats for many years and know far more about feline illness than most pet parents. The vet tech was drama hungry and assumed that I was an idiot because I didn't have the doses for the medication memorized. She concluded they were being improperly dosed. I could hear her gossiping about it in the back room and twisting the information I gave her. She got the vet all worked up and the vet was clearly angry throughout the consult. Even though the test for giardia was positive and I was right about the diagnosis and the medication (and as it turns out had been giving them the correct dosage); I was still treated disrespectfully, condescendingly and lectured. Just before I left I was given written information about giardia which would have been fine except for the snide comment that it came from a 'reputable medical journal'. It is insulting that they assume the worst about pet parents and forget that some of them actually get their information from said 'reputable medical journals'. So I won't be back and caution other pet parents-- when you speak to some of the vet techs there, you will be judged and "everything you say, can and will be used against you".
