My fianc and I took the newborn kitten and our dog to the vet. While we were there, the lady who checked us in displayed a bit of attitude, but we didn't pay much attention to it. She then led us to the room and asked us questions about the kitten and dog, this time with a positive attitude. Soon after, a nurse came in and took the kitten, but another nurse, whos black, displayed attitude when I tried to explain that my dog doesnt bite when putting on the muzzle. She cut me off, insisting, "Oh no, he bites. He was trying to bite us." This surprised both my fianc and me because every vet we've taken him to in Tulsa has loved him and never mentioned anything about him biting. I attempted to explain that perhaps they were being rough with my dog, but she kept insisting that he was trying to bite. Reluctantly, we agreed to put the muzzle on. Later, when she returned and said something, I tried to ask her to repeat herself because my fianc and I are deaf and hard of hearing. Instead of accommodating us, she said, "I need you both to scan his microchip because hes trying to bite us." We were taken aback, wondering if this was part of her job or if the doctor should be handling such situations. When my fianc attempted to comply, she gave him attitude, prompting me to speak up, questioning if it was our responsibility. She replied, "Well, your dog is trying to bite us." I couldn't hear what she said next, but I began to speak up before she interrupted, saying, "He doesnt have a microchip." We insisted that he did, as we had spent money on it, and his microchip information was readily available. She then dismissed us, saying something along the lines of "If you dont want to, then dont worry about it," but her tone wasn't positive. She left, and we were left with a different nurse. Also, we felt misled regarding the cost of the visit, as we were initially told it would be around $300 to determine what was wrong with the kitten. Sadly, we couldn't save the kitten as it had ingested something toxic. It's now resting peacefully in the Lords hands. So, our experience at the vet was disappointing, and we won't be returning.
