Oak Knoll Pottery is a wonderful studio. Amy Lancaster is an amazing teacher and is a truly talented potter. She is kind, patient and has a terrific sense of humor. Potters of all levels are welcome. Throwing did not come easy for me, but with way Amys guidance, I feel more successful everyday. Her studio is large, well organized and has all the tools a potter needs, including many beautiful glazes to choose from. The classes are very welcoming, and the other students are a joy to be in class with. I visited another pottery studio before finding Oak Knoll, and I was truly disappointed in the lack of direction and the chaotic atmosphere at the other studio. Oak Knoll Pottery is an inviting space where inspiration is encouraged and nurtured. Oak Knoll Pottery is an excellent studio begin and continue your pottery journey.

This studio is clean, organized, spacious, and has a very welcoming and calm atmosphere. I've been to two other pottery studios before and this one has the most organized system with the most diverse set of properly cared-for tools available for students to use. There's also a nice break room and plenty of parking. It's a peaceful area and the students and staff are all super friendly and supportive. I take classes with Amy and she is an incredible teacher who is very dedicated to the art - she has a wealth of knowledge that she is eager to share with her students and she does a fantastic job teaching. I've taken wheel throwing classes with 4 other instructors at other studios before Oak Knoll and for a bit, something just didn't click. My pots and bowls looked wonky, and I felt like I was constantly trying to fight the clay at every stage of the process. However, within 2 classes with Amy, I was throwing and trimming beautiful bowls!! Her teaching techniques are efficient and easy to understand and what really helped me was her ability to guide my hands while throwing and trimming so I can learn tactilely how it feels to have gentle yet firm control of the clay. Plus she can pretty much fix any mistake and provide honest and helpful feedback. I love how supported I feel here and no matter where you are in your pottery journey, Oak Knoll is a great place to be. Super happy I found this gem of a studio!

I had a great time and learned a lot in a short class. Dani was very helpful! If you're a beginner, this is the place to go.

Took one of the mini classes in June and had a blast. We made a bowl and everyones came out differently but they all still looked like bowls. No one walked out with something they werent happy with. The staff was very helpful and informative. If you made a mistake, they helped you fix. They also made sure to explain why you were doing the steps you were doing and what could happen if you went too far with a step. I would definitely recommend this class if youre looking for something fun and different to do.
