To stay in this quintessential Vermont house is to feel at home, with the familiar coziness of a family home that immediately welcomes you. Between the great room with a large couch for plenty of sore skiers to rest on and warm themselves by the large stone fireplace, to the 10+ dining table around the corner from the fully equipped kitchen with cast iron pots and pans in every size and antique gas Wolf stove, to the many bedrooms with impossibly warm, comfortable beds, it is a home you never want depart from and reunite with soon. We stayed here for a weekend ski getaway with friends and it made for the most wonderful home base to ski Okemo (just 10 minutes away), explore the downtown, and also enjoy the nearly 4 acres of land on which the house sits. The sledding hill cannot be missed and is an absolute must. 1828 Reunion House, we hope to be back, soon!

Fun fall weekend at the charming 1828 Reunion House. Great location next to the quintessential babbling brook, aka Williams river. Close to the town of Ludlow and relaxing country walks up Smokeshire Road. Cant wait to return!

The 1828 is literally the coziest and most fun house i've ever stayed in - it is the perfect place for a family / friend reunion (thus the name), there's really something for everyone to do in the house and nearby. You can also tell just how much love and care the owners put into the house. There is truly a magic to the house and area that words can't quite capture - je ne sais quoi. I am eager to return back to the 1828 Reunion House with more friends and family to share and commune in the 1828 magic.

Upon arrival we built a fire in the large lodge fireplace with the logs left conveniently out of the weather on the porch and beside the hearth. Copious amount of stacked dry wood was waiting in the barn to replenish the supply and keep our quarters toasty. The large gas stove in the well outfitted kitchen created a warm, welcoming gathering place while dinner was prepared and sitting as a group of seventeen around the long wooden dining room table was lots of fun. The country road bordering the grounds followed a mountain stream and made for a beautiful walk. 1828 Reunion House was a short drive to all the activities in Ludlow and nicely situated to experience all that the area has to offer. We have been here several times and have enjoyed each visit with plans to return again soon.
