Residence Inn by Marriott Newport News Airport

This has got to be the cleanest hotel I have ever been in. My grandmother, who would use a whole can of Lysol in a hotel room (choking everyone out) would have left the can in her purse. The entire hotel is being completely renovated floor by floor. We were in two of the older non-renovated rooms. While the the furniture has a lot of wear and tear and one of the kitchen cabinet doors was cracked, it was absolutely spotless. I am not exaggerating when I say you could eat off the floor. If housekeeping take care of an older room like this I can just imagine how nice it will be one they finish renovating. The beds were clean and very comfortable. The kitchen was very well stocked and you can call down to the front desk for many items. The front desk people were so friendly and efficient. The outside sitting area was so nice. The breakfast was really delicious and varied. While near the interstate and airport its on a quiet road with easy access to a Dunkin Donuts, Cracker Barrel (Do NOT waste your time with curbside pickup though) & gas station Rooms: The rooms were beyond clean.

The desk clerks, Lakishia, Ashley, we're very helpful and assisting us with what we needed. The breakfast crew, Tina Troy and Zack served up a delicious menu each morning and were very friendly. We thank them for making our stay comfortable.

Jan 2023, I stayed at this hotel , while working at the Military Base.. I worked for third party company that had a relationship with this hotel. I was bitten by BED BUGS. I had to get treatment from Urgent care in the area. I was place on medication. Of course Rebecca the manager denied bed bugs but sprayed the room. I have been trying for a year to get compensate for the medical bill , medication and the clothing i threw out. I have call corporate office and not one person has return my calls. I wrote a review back in Jan 23 and was force to remove it by the hotel and third party company that has a contract with the Department of Defense. As a Marriott PLATINUM ELITE MEMBER, I'M DISGUSTED HOW I HAVE BEEN TREATED.

I just added on to my previous post, so here I go. I was not disappointed this time! I got my room for a week, 4 - 9 Feb 2024, and my stay was good. I can't say awesome because the hotel is in the process of updating the rooms and making their customers happy.Thank You and love this place! Home away from Home! As always, when I travel to Newport News, this is my choice for hotels. I was very disappointed when I could not get a room there this past week. I have been staying there for the past 12 years, not this time. Missed this place and the awesome people that manages this kingdom. Rooms: My room was upgraded and as always, it was good. But I bet my next stay will be even better. They are in the process of remodeling the hotel and by what I have seen, I can't wait to get back. Food & drinks: I have stayed at this location for years, and as always, and as always, can't wait for my 0630 breakfast. It is my way to wake up and enjoy my time my breakfast and coffee. Thank you to everyone that makes this happen.

Deal breaker was shower barely got to lukewarm, definitely no steam. I told front desk and they said heater was recently fixed and dismissed it. I was on a renovated floor but furniture still seemed old and only sign of reno was the poorly cleaned white dust from drywall sanding and plastic grocery bag still covering the smoke detector. Breakfast staff and quality was actually very good as well as daily housekeeping. I wouldnt mind staying again but after taking almost cold showers all week not going to risk it again.
