This isn't our main dentist because of convenience for me, but I've taken two of my kids here for special cases. Both times I have been blown away by this office. The dentists are so great, never put me down or made me feel stupid for any reason. The staff is all so caring, considerate, great with kids. My 5 year old had a crown put on and all of the staff came to check on him at one point during his procedure. I have nothing but good things to say about this office and the people who work in it.

I'm still kind of reeling from my son's dentist appointment. Our experience was so horrible. First, we've kept our bubble very tight during Covid and I was shocked to see that there were so few precautions taken. I only saw one staff member wearing a mask correctly, and the majority of them either weren't wearing them at all or they were wearing them only on their mouths. (Including Dr. Coplin and the dental assistant who, of course, had to be right in my kid's face for a prolonged period of time.) There were multiple people in the waiting room at a time (also not encouraged to wear masks), lots of shared surfaces (including one pen to sign documents with), and no social distancing. Next, my son was terrified from the get-go because there was a very scary movie playing on the TV in the waiting room when we arrived. (I asked them to change it, and they did.) Wait times were much longer than expected, which was difficult when I had a little guy who was hungry but couldn't eat for his procedure. We waited about an hour and a half before our procedure (though some of that time was waiting for meds to kick in). Once the procedure started, they put what I thought were noise-cancelling headphones on my son (which would have been awesome and made sense) but then halfway through the procedure there was a comment about the "movie he was listening to". We like to make informed decisions about what our kids are going to watch or listen to, and after the waiting room TV I wasn't sure it was something that was appropriate and I wish I would've been asked before that happened. There was also a lot of talk about, "do this to be brave", "do this to be strong", "be tough", "be like Spiderman" (who he has no idea who that is). The last time we went to see Dr. Coplin, it was the same sort of thing and my little guy cried later in the day and told me he was trying to be brave but the dentist kept telling him he had to try harder. It broke my heart. There were also staff members arguing and snapping at each other, and clearly some tension between the receptionist and others. If a three year old can pick up on it, you need to reign it in! We are trying to raise kind, sweet, adventurous kids and you shouldn't have to un-teach things from a place that should be safe like a dental office.

We took our infant daughter in for a lip and tongue tie correction after a month of her being gassy and unhappy, and never being able to eat enough, not to mention my wife’s almost unbearable pain trying to breastfeed. I can’t overstate how phenomenal the entire staff was. Dr. Coplin didn’t sugarcoat anything but was still kind and thoughtful, and extremely respectful towards parents making the best decisions for their own kids. Thoroughly impressed with our experience here, and the operation results are wonderful. Baby is happier than she’s ever been and mom is pain free.
