The book, "Goodbye, Walter" was a gift. I was reticent to read it because I feared it would be a depressing reminder of loved ones lost. So, I approached with caution and skimmed pages. I became intrigued and pulled in by the snippets I skimmed and thus began reading from the beginning. I’m glad I did. What unfolded were two heart-warming journeys with both Walter and RuthAnn. The story is a reminder of the gifts we share with each other when we have meaningful and open conversations. It’s never too late to learn and every interaction is an opportunity for growth. The book delivered as promised on the back cover – an inspiring story behind the story of reporter RuthAnn interviewing Walter during his end of life.

I finished reading the book "Goodbye, Walter: A Reporter's Notebook" and I was touched. I've been given a new, refreshing perspective on the role that hospice care has in enhancing the final chapter of life.
