Parasite ridden, abusive, neglectful, manipulative. BFTD is not what they claim. Not a member of the organziations they claim. And don't have the education they claim. The owner, Hanalore, puts animals and staff in danger. Illegal practices run rampant. Go as far away from this "dog training" company as possible.

I am a former client and employee. It has taken me years to feel comfortable sharing my experience with this company but in light of the other stories being shared I feel wrong staying silent. As an employee, I was overworked and underpaid, and still spoken about in an incredibly poor fashion. Employees are paid 35-40% of the cost of the services with NO base pay, are expected to use their own cars and pay for gas with no reimbursement, and use their personal cell phone for work. On top of this, theyre expected to handle 5-6 dog packs with minimal training (1-2 weeks of shadowing another handler at most). Dogs with high levels of reactivity are given to handlers, and expressing discomfort or lack of experience when assigned dogs will lead to your schedule being cut down resulting in little to no income. I developed anxiety so bad as a result of multiple bites and having to break up fights between dogs that I was not equipped to handle, that I developed severe panic attacks and migraines. The one time I tried to call out I was told I needed to give more notice in the future as it was a major inconvenience, but ironically enough the owner stays home sick with no notice whenever she pleases. Both clients and employees are favorited or talked down on in a manner youd expect from a sorority or high school clique rather than a professional environment. Clients are expected to buy copious amounts of expensive gear for training and activities, sign up for classes that are incredibly expensive, and do so happily. People who cant or wont are treated as though they dont care about their dogs and are the subject of major ridicule behind closed doors. I could go on about the awful experiences I had but I will end by saying please, if you value your relationship with your dog and want to be treated with compassion and respect, choose another facility.

I do not recommend Boston for the Dogs. My dog Josie and I used their services for under a year to find out their training facility was extremely unorganized it was impossible to get any updates on what my dog was doing in school (I have emails and messages to prove this), the owners + staff consumed alcohol on the job (we witnessed this at a chiropractic visit at the owners house where Hannalore was slurring her speech), the facility continuously had giardia and kennel cough outbreaks, we had an unpleasant 1:1 lesson with Corey where he told me to correct my dog for avoidance behaviors on an ecollar. Dont be fooled by the many positive reviews as the owner gives out free group classes for writing one. Do your research when looking for a reputable dog training facility. I really regret coming here. Stay far far away from BFTD.
