I learned a hard lesson recently when I switched our homeowners and auto insurance to Liberty Mutual...saving money isn't always worth it when a business doesn't care about its customers. That is the case with Liberty Mutual. In short, they didn't notify our state motor vehicle department that we switched insurance and its resulted in a lot of phone calls, paperwork, faxes and scrambling to avoid fines. I like to avoid dealing with motor vehicle as much as possible because it never takes just one call, or one fax. This has been ongoing for a month now with multiple calls, multiple faxes....THANKS, Liberty Mutual. When I have called them, what they like to do is pass you around to 3 different people so you have to explain what you need 3 different times. Also reps don't tell you that they are transferring you, just put you on hold and you find yourself in a new queue. I find that to to be really poor customer service because its like the rep just wanted to dump you off on someone else. Calls end up being almost an hour when they treat their customers this way. They aren't very helpful when you call, they don't own their mistake and they don't appreciate their customers. I don't want to spend money with a company that doesn't value my business, so we will be switching to a company that actually cares about its customers.
