The DUA system is horrible with how long people have to wait, the entire system needs to be re-worked entirely, it should not take months to get approved and receive retro, people have bills to pay and mouths to feed smdh, only giving 1 star because I can not rate 0.. this system is a joke in Massachusetts!! By the time you receive any payments you are already living in a car or in a shelter because you have lost everything you have worked for.. THANKS DUA for holding my hard earned my tax dollars hostage for months now!!!

Called in early in the morning after waiting on a determination. Got ahold of somebody almost immediately. It was a busy time, so the original rep checked in regularly until the person he was transferring me to was available. Both representatives were incredibly kind and courteous -and resolved my problem within an hour. Thank you!!!!!

Every time I call, the wait time is over 60 min. Sometime you can enter a call back number but when they call you back they put you on hold again for minutes. No way to get a hold on anybody no matter what. What happened to the walk in service?

this system is convoluted and needs to be overhauled! I filed for unemployment after loosing my license. I was payed out around 630 dollars in total which I used to buy a new car and get my license back. I had a new job set up and was ready to go after complying with EVERYTHING the Mass DoU asked of me including work searches and seminars/workshops. They then filed an audit on me and determined that I was not fired from my job, and after I lost the appeal asked me to repay the $630. I wont even go into how impartial and kangaroo the appeal process is or how the hearing works. Im doing -much- better thanks to the $630 so I decided I might as well just eat it and get the DoU off my back for good. Well guess what? My first payment is due today and the website keeps sending me an error link. This website was clearly designed by someone with no concept of user interface or ease. Its 2023 and the DoU has a 1998 website layout. Its embarrassing. I cant find anywhere to process a payment, the links that -might- help me read error codes when I try to follow them. Isnt it not possible for the people at the DoU to simply put a pay your balance here option on the menu? The worst part is that if these payments are not processed on time, they will Take it from your state tax returns! So I tried to call them, The customer service automated response told me the wait time was 30 minutes, and to just call back later when call volumes were lower. When does the DoU NOT have high call volumes? When you do talk with someone, they are always rude and predatory. There was one guy named Jose who worked there who treated me like an impotent child when questioning me about my last job. Then they make it impossible for you to contact them again. I hope you made your audit quota this month you jerk! Overall we have put arrogant and selfish people in charge of a program that is meant to help people and it SHOWS. Take my advice. Use UI for a week and then close the account as soon as you can. They want that money back and they WILL get it! Avoid MASS UI as much as possible!
