Friendly City Dance Room

We used Phil at the Friendly City Dance Room for some dance lessons before our wedding. We took 5 classes, and every one was a great experience. Phil was personable, professional, knowledgeable, and able to help us make it look like we knew what we were doing! He was flexible with my husband's work hours as well, which was great. Looking for a dance studio that is friendly, professional and just a fun place to be? You have to check out The Friendly City Dance Room. Plenty of different styles to learn and even build on if you are already familiar with those styles of dance. Whether you are taking solo classes or attending the group sessions, you will learn so much in a non-stressful, inviting atmosphere. And don't forget the socials after some of the group sessions. A perfect place to practice what you just learned! So happy I found this place and I already feel like family.

My fiance and I had our first dance class at Friendly City Dance Room with Phillip as our instructor and it was wonderful. The dance area was very clean, spacious and had lots of natural light. Phillip is kind, knowledgeable, and very skilled at modifying his teaching method to maximize the effectiveness for each individual learner. I feel that we received more that what we had imagined in a dance class and it's safe to say it was well worth the price for the lesson. We're looking forward to returning for our next lesson.

There is a reason why Harrisonburg has been dubbed "The Friendly City" as it is most certainly a friendly city! The Friendly City Dance Room lives up to the hype and will not disappoint! It is a safe and welcoming environment that offers flexibility and is family friendly! All of the dance instructors are fun, well qualified, and the owners are among the kindest, caring, and compassionate people I have had the privilege of knowing. The Dance Room not only offers a safe, encouraging, and family friendly atmosphere to practice dance, but Erin & Phillip also use this Dance Room as a platform for community outreach and as an opportunity to minister to others; whatever the need may be. Additionally, there is a deep sense of sportsmanship and camaraderie among the dancers. They offer kind support and encouragement even to beginners. In fact, it is such a great environment to learn to dance that people from Richmond to Roanoke come to dance there. For me personally, the Dance Room offers me a fun, safe environment that is not only great exercise, but great therapy for my heart and soul. You may arrive as a stranger but you will most definitely leave as a member of the Dance Room Family. Join us! You will not be disappointed.

Dance studio is in the heart of downtown and has so much space! Phillip is a great teacher and was the perfect mentor for learning the basics.
