Retreat at Greystone

Retreat at Greystone has been an amazing home! I love the beautiful, quiet setting. Internet access is very high quality for when I need to work from home. The exterior of the buildings is very aesthetic and the living space is perfect. The common areas are always beautiful and clean and the services and staff support have been fantastic. The community is very close to good restaurants, groceries, etc. I would recommend it as a great value if you appreciate quality and solitude.

Phenomenal office staff!! The ladies in the office is very friendly and welcoming. The maintenance guys are awesome!! This place is what you call luxury. I've been living here for almost a month and I absolutely love my apartment. I have new floors, carpet and appliances. Also they make sure the walls are freshly painted. I'm a single mother of four children. I wanted to live in a home that's comfortable for me and my children. My children love their room and bathroom. If you don't like friendly neighbors this may not be the place for you. I love my neighbors they're very friendly and speak to me every morning while walking my son the bus stop. They also have one of the best school systems in Birmingham. I love that they have a place for pets to play and the neighbors do pick up behind their dogs. You wont see any dog dropping on this property...PERIOD!! I love that it's a gated community. I absolutely love living here.

My family and I lived here for one year while I finished up training. They advertise themselves as a "luxury" apartment, but there really isn't anything luxurious about this place. Pros: (1) Front office staff members are cordial (2) The apartment is usually pretty prompt with requests (3) Gym is open 24 hr with key fob access (4) Doggy waste bins everywhere (though quite a few people don't like to pick up after their pets) Cons: (1) When we moved in a year ago, the apartment was absolutely disgusting. The carpet was clearly old and had not been cleaned prior to our move-in. The cabinets were dusty. (2) I suppose this is apartment living in general, but the weed odor from neighbors was very bothersome. With children around, this was not ideal. One of our neighbors had to move out and terminate the contract earlier because their apartment always smelled of marijuana. (3) There is no common courtesy from the apartment management in terms of utilizing shared space. As apartment living goes, there is a constant flux of residents, and usually parking spaces are congested. Somebody from the apartment management left a trailer in one of the parking spots for weeks before I had to call the office to have it moved. Around the same time, an old, presumably defunct, Ford SUV took up one of the parking spots. We'd see someone, and at times the maintenance staff, working on this vehicle for months (not exaggerating, literally months). The SUV moved maybe once during this time and that was to another parking spot just across the way. For all we know, it's still just sitting there. I did bring this up to management, and nothing was done about it. I can understand that not everyone has the resources to have a functioning mode of transportation; however, what I do not comprehend is the utter lack of respect for everyone's common space. It does not make sense to treat the property as some junkyard. (4) One of the maintenance staff paid us a visit when we reported our sink overflowing. My wife and I were not home at the time, and our nanny was watching the children. He lectured her about not putting food items down the regular drain, which is something we never did anyway and neither did our nanny. Then he proceeded to use our recycling bin to drain all the dirty water, emptied it outside, did not rinse it out and just left it in the entryway after he addressed the issue; then he left. He didn't even bother to bring his own equipment. In conclusion, if you are looking for short-term living, this is an okay place. We are so happy that we knew this was going to be temporary coming in, which is why we could tolerate some of these incidents. Look somewhere else. Hopefully Birmingham as better options than this place.

These are great apartments the landscape is beautiful. And the maintenance guy Michael went above and beyond when he responded to my work order. He made sure I was knowledgeable on my issue. AWESOME JOB!!!!!!

I had a guided tour of the facility yesterday and Jordan was amazing. She answered all of my questions and was extremely informative of the property. Would highly recommend Jordan if you are looking at taking a tour here Retreat at Greystone!
