The Westin Birmingham

Unfortunately the service at the front desk is more of a warm body than actual customer service. You're not treated as a customer but an announce. Rooms are clean esque. Dirty towels in the closet is not uncommon, nor was it when I checked in again this trip. The rooms are spacious. The bathrooms are spacious as well. Waterfall shower and hand nozzle. Plenty of hot water. The beds and pillow are comfortable amd the room temperature is easy to control to not be to hot or to cold. The fitness center hadn't been maintained I quite some time. There is 1 peloton. The hand screw still hadn't been replaced for the handle bars and now it is "out of order" with a piece of tape, taped to the screen. There are 5 or 6 treadmills as well as 2 ellipticals. There are free weights. A trx band with the cable machine as well as slam balls The location is fantastic. It just falls short in so many ways. If you were hoping to get your Marriott points while staying at this property. It seems to be a game of chance. I've received them approximately 20% of the times I've stayed as others that have stayed here too.

The staff, especially manager, was very welcoming and kind. The staff in the restaurant were attentive and personable. I was disappointed in the bathroom. The shower was rusted and the sealant around the glass had mold on it. Rooms: Need updating. The carpet is old and the bathroom needs an update. Rust and mold in the shower Food & drinks: Turkey burger, wings and salads were great in the Sports bar

The internet was not working, I asked front desk for help they told me I need to call 1800. The light bulb is broken in the room 510.
