Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Birmingham Downtown

This place needs work. If your a Marriott patron... just stay somewhere else. This place has rude service, leaking air conditioner, and wet floors as amenities. I can definitely tell this is a franchise location which is disappointing, because some are actually very nice. However you can look at the other reviews and tell This place is a waste of time or This is where you go when you don't have other options.

I absolutely Love this hotel! The hotel staff is AWESOME! Nice size, clean rooms, and good breakfast options. The only bad thing I have to say is, DO NOT USE THE VALET SERVICE.

Overall a bad experience from start to finish. We checked in and got our room. Within 2 minutes in our room we realized the air-conditioning wasn't working. We called the front desk and they told us they would be right up. We waited 30 minutes and I sent a message on the app with no reply. We made our way to the front desk and the individual was casually putting key cards in holders. When we mentioned the air conditioning they acted like they didn't know what we were talking about. They told us they would send a maintenance person to check it out. We went to dinner and came back 2 hours later and the air was still out. I went back down and the front desk individual had changed and they again had no clue about the air-conditioning. They told me at 9pm it may be a while before maintenance could get to my room. I told them I'd like to switch rooms. I got a new room and it was smaller but with working air. It wasn't until I realized the toilet wouldn't flush and the hair dryer was broken from someone hanging it off the towel hanger on the door which was also now broken that this hotel just isn't being managed well. I dont recommend this hotel and I advise anyone considering it to stay at another location.
