If I could give this hospital 0 stars, I would. The ER & Lab (that processes blood work) need to be redone. New staff or new management. How does blood work get lost 5 hours later? And we have to redo blood work again. We have been at the ER since 6:30pm and it's 4 am and we are STILL HERE. This is a pitful excuse for a hospital. Whoever is over the ER and Lab need to reconsider their position. Please dont comment under my post apologizing like the other reviewers. You have NUMEROUS of negative reviews and you all have still not improve at ALL. So please save yourself the time and energy and instead of replying, go make sure another patients blood work is not lost. If you made it this far, RUN to another hospital. You will be here waiting FOREVER!

Well I was there many many times and it was seriously hit or miss. Sometimes treated great other times like I was absolutely nothing. They wanted to let me die my spouse had me transferred and Huntsville said they would be able to do nothing anywhere else. Well needless to say I’m alive almost two years later so I think the other place did way more than nothing. Even called about my mother and basically had my head ripped off by nurse Allyson on the seventh floor lol. Guess not a whole lot has changed in two years.

1982 Health Care Authorities Act places a $100K limit on any liability on health care authorities. Somehow, Huntsville Hospital is one. So this means you could go in to have your appendix removed and they could instead cut you head off with a chainsaw and the most your family will recieve in compensation is $100K. How do you avoid gross negligence when there is virtually no penalty? The correct answer should be, there is no limit. This would ensure the corporate conglomerate that is Huntsville Hospital would strive, above all, to avoid negligent, irresponsible behavior so as to preserve their bottom line. But with a $100K limit, why would that ever be a priority? My experience at Huntsville Hospital almost led to the death of a family member due to poor practices and unsanitary conditions. Not to mention the enormous expense that we had to pay out of pocket to treat the resulting condition. I have thought about this for some time, and I never understood why so many people went there? I have concluded it is because most people do not know, who would ever suspect such a state protection existed for a few special hospitals in Alabama? And certainly not one as large as Huntsville Hospital. This needs to change. So here is your PSA: Please, if at all possible, find another option that isn't a health care authority. Also, please let others know as well. I firmly believe the day will come where the awful things done at this institution will be brought to light. Documentaries will be made questioning how such a system could exist today in America. Until that day comes please spread the word, so that people can make the best decision possible for their situation. Also, one star is far too generous, but that is as low as it will go.
