      image Service was great! Our server was very nice and attentive; the highlight of the visit. However, the food was anything but a highlight.
      I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich with a side of fries and my partner ordered the Stuffed Roasted Porkloin. The food that was brought to us promptly, but it looked it was from a high school cafeteria.
      The grilled chicken seemed to be just a frozen filet from Costco/Sam's Club. It tasted ok, but not what I was expecting from a restaurant. My partner's plate looked pretty bleak. The green beans are almost certainly just canned green beans. The mashed potatoes seemed to be instant mashed potatoes and the pork was too much stuffing to meat.
      If you're looking for fresh food, this is not your spot.

      Thank you so much for the feedback Josh. So sorry you did not enjoy the food. While we appreciate the feedback and ALWAYS try to grow in our food quality and what the expectations are; we always like to address the issues you listed.Chicken: we purchase 60-80 pounds of fresh chicken from a local food vendor each week. It is soaked in brine to keep it from drying out. All the chicken is cooked daily and kept warm in a moist environment until it is ordered. No idea why it would be compared to “frozen”. We go to great expense and inventory control to only provide fresh chicken. Green beans: Yes, we serve canned green beans. They are seasoned with butter and season salt and cooked dailyWe do offer baby green beans that are cooked to order on our dinner menu. Lunch is fast moving and does not allow us to cook those to order.Over Stuffed Porkloin: we make this in house as the majority of our menu; it is possible that you may have received a slice that was heavy on the stuffing although it does have a decent amount of stuffing in general Potatoes: we order 80-120 lbs of fresh russet potatoes each week; each day these are peeled, cut and cooked Never have we used boxed instant potatoesWe have no issue replacing food if you are not happy with your choices. If you do happen to visit us again, please let us know if you are not satisfied with the food. Thank you

      image The experience was pretty bad, I was uncomfortable from the moment I walked in up until I eventually walked out.
      Our server was at least kind and that was nice, but the food...? It was appalling, this is probably the worst food I've had in recent times when eating out.
      It was just really gross, I have no other words for it; I'd have a better meal from my old elementary school cafeteria, and that is not an exaggeration...
      gummy, congealing gravy; green beans that look and taste like they came out of a can, otherwise, terribly made; bread rolls that were likely not made there either or are from a can.. I could clearly see the uncooked doughy parts of it. Laughable protein and just many other things to say, or not say, really
      Wouldn't ever recommend this place to anyone, it's clearly just a place that's likely stayed the same forever with the same quality- fueled by folks with no actual taste for good food. It's the same story for similar locations in Huntsville, a shame really.

Gravy: The mushroom gravy is made with au jus, mushrooms and cream of mushroom soup; it is held warm until serving“Fueled by folks with no actual taste for food”Main Street Cafe has been in operation for 23+ years. The menu has been consistent throughout. We offer food that isn’t readily available anywhere else. Thankfully we have a loyal customer base and enjoy new diners each day. We are a staff of over 20 employees. Many who arrive as early as 5 AM to prepare for lunch service. There is no lack of appreciation for the “folks” who have provided every $ that has “fueled” the jobs of those 20+ employees. We love Madison and the surrounding areas!! We have no issue replacing food if you are not happy with your choices. If you do happen to visit us again, please let us know if you are not satisfied with the food. Thank you

      image Food was great! Atmosphere is really nice but we didn't like the storage area with plastic curtains was not attractive. And it was a bit pricey.
