    Recently went to my banker for new construction, and apparently they had these folks appraise the property. I am new to all of this so I had questions. I was trying to make sure I understood the process well. I called my banker AND builder with my questions and was referred to the appraiser with my questions. When we spoke, I could tell he was irritated, like maybe he had a bad day. Long story short here, I wondered why it was so low considering it was being appraised for cost etc. I asked if he was in the habit of appraising a *new construction* for what it cost to build it and he so rudely said, "no ma'am" and I inform him that is what they(the woman who actually did the appraisal) did and he said, "We have no way of knowing what your builder is charging you." I said, "sir, she had a price sheet the building and banker sent her as asked for, she even commented on my $1,200 sink, so she had to know." After that, it was obvious he was in the wrong.. The gist of all this was it took them FOREVER(I have email proof of all this to where I emailed my banker asking what was the delay?) They had NO CLUE they were appraising NEW CONSTRUCTION in the beginning, at least the woman who called me up to begin with didn't until I informed her. Second, they were rude from the get go. They blamed the banker and the banker claims that it was apparently them who dropped the ball. The lady who appraised did say that it was sitting on her desk for a week while out of town so there is that. Any way, terrible customer service and VERY shady also. Had someone in the secondary market say the appraisal should have been 40k higher. He also kept acting like he didn't know the female I was referring to because I couldn't remember her name...but here is a picture with her name all over it. You would think you would remember a female that works for you or with you for the past 11 years or so that he mentioned.
