Had the privilege of speaking with Casey, and she has THE worst customer service! She is not nice and very rude. She doesnt know how to deal with customers. Such a bad look for the company. If she doesnt enjoy her job, perhaps she needs to find employment elsewhere!

Polite and reasonable before you move in but the apartment was not thoroughly cleaned prior to us moving in. There were sticky handprints on windows. Dust and grime over most surfaces. Stains all over the bathroom cabinets, etc. During the earthquake, the upstairs apartment flooded from an unsecured water heater. We called to get the water shut off and they couldn't tell us where the water shutoff was. Following this flood we temporarily moved out as the apartment was unlivable. After repairs started, the landlord Kasey said that the apartment was still liveable while repairs were made. As the apartment was still water damaged we did not move back in until after repairs were finalized. Kasey then tried to charge us for rent while the apartment was unlivable and finally settled on a lower amount after I notified her it was illegal to do so. When I finally moved out, I provided 30 days notice and agreed on prorating the rent for half the month after I moved out. Kasey did not return the security deposit until two months later, lying several times about not having a forwarding address despite being given this three times in writing and email. Additionally, there were several cleaning fees subtracted from the security deposit which were erroneous as the apartment was cleaner than I found it, which she initially thanked me for. AK state law requires landlords to return security deposits within two weeks and I should have taken her to small claims for it. I did everything in my power to be a gracious, and polite tenant, and have never had issues with any landlord prior to this. I regret my business with Benson real estate and I regret being taken advantage of.
