Wings Airways & the Taku Glacier Lodge

Fantastic exhilarating trip , flying in a float plane over mountains and glaziers and landing on a lake. Unforgettable highlight of our visit to Juneau.

Excursion was cancelled due to bad weather. So I only gave 2 stars because they did call me and let me know that they gave me a full refund. We were very disappointed.

We unfortunately weren't able to make our reservations for the 5 Glacier Flightseeing Tour due to my wife's emergency surgery, but I wanted to share my experience with having to cancel. I called and informed them of our situation and while I was still on the phone with them, I received an email confirming the cancelation with a full refund. I'm giving 5 stars based on their outstanding customer service, I'd absolutely book with them in the future (and hope to)

I did not stay at the lodge. We took the seaplane ride over the glaciers. We were the last flight of the season. There was a very large group of us. We werent even thinking about taking the flight , but called and they said 300. Didnt say per person or anything. They heard us all talking inside the little area that it was 30 per person for the ride..the young blonde lady helping us did not say hey its 300 person. Didnt show us the break down, didnt tell us a final amount, didnt print , text or email a receipt. Said would have when we got back. Got back doors locked sign said closed for the season. Next morning get on credit card app. See a charge for 3000 . Immediately call the number. Its out of service. Continue to go back and forth with credit card dispute.. today got a reversal charge.. the merchant sent a receipt that has not been provide to me or the credit card company until now. 4 Months after the dispute was opened tried calling wings airways guess what no Answer..

We have done many trips to Alaska and finally took the Taku Lodge and 5 glacier tour, with pur family of 4. Yes it may seem a bit pricey, but the experience was worth every penny. The staff were very nice and helpful, our pilot very skilled, and the aircraft in spectacular condition. The flight over the glaciers is definitely a must do. Such a different perspective from above and low. Of course seaplane take offs and landings are exillerating. Taku Lodge is such a beautiful location, very peaceful, and you do have enough time to either explore around or just take in the beauty. The meal at the lodge was fantastic, my wife even bought the cook book and we have enjoyed items from that little feast over and over. My advice is to book this tour, it will not disappoint. We have already booked our next trip to Alaska, and all of us want to do it again, this time with more extended family
