I was seen for a medical eye irritant, at which time I was given a general exam and told I had allergies, when being walked to the front desk the billing lady asked the assistant what should I bill him under? At which time the assistant said I dont know it was kind of like an ER visit I was informed through my insurance that no one can charge an ER copay besides an actual ER.. so I sit down expecting to pay what my FEP BCBS plan says under vision for medical visits due to eye irritants (because yes I am informed of my insurance plan) -$30.. the billing lady then states it will be $250 that needed to be paid same day. I called my wife as I was confused and she has more information on our plan as well as being in the medical field, I told them to bill my insurance and if I owed anything id pay the bill at that time. The assistant got an attitude and stated so you refuse to pay today? Conveniently two days later the clinic sent out an email stating theyd no longer cover BCBS patients. I cant help but find that to be very suspicious as well as trying to be coaxed into paying huge copays unreasonably. After contacting my insurance company they reassured me this clinic billed incorrectly and should have been the $30 copay. Not only will I not be returning, but do to the sudden drop of BCBS patients my wife and daughter are both out of an eye doctor as they both wear glasses: my wife posted a review with a screenshot to the email sent and conveniently it was deleted from google reviews. Hoping this wont be taken down as we are all entitled to our honest opinions.
