Hi Amanda! Thank you so so much for leaving this review about the odor in our K Building! Within 20 minutes of seeing your review, we walked into the K bldg and agreed that it smelled absolutely terrible and not what a storage unit building should smell like. After consulting with the owner, we grabbed a ladder, flash light and used our noses to inspect units from the top. Although we knew it was a stab in the dark, our senses pointed us to a customer who had accidentally stored some vacuum sealed salmon in their unit (it smelled really bad). We immediately opened the unit, removed the fish and bleached the area around the spilled fish goop to completely remove the source of the odor. Afterwards, we set-up fans to ventilate the odor out of the building doors and will continue monitoring to ensure the odor is completely gone from the K-building. The customer was terminated and will have that unit vacated soon. Update: the customer has moved out and the unit was completely cleaned and sanitized in December 2023, eliminating the odor along with it. That being said, thank you again for taking the time to bring this to our attention Amanda! We're glad that we were able to find the source of the issue the same day of this review and will send an update to all K-bldg customers once we confirm the smell is completely eradicated. To everyone else who is still reading this lengthy response, please let this be a reminder not to store any type of perishable goods, including food, animal feed, organic materials such as potting soil in your storage unit as it's against our lease agreement and will prevent rodents and odors from contaminating the rest of your belongings.
