Lake of the Woods Resort

This place was pretty. We did pay more money for the 2 bedroom cabin. We got in late Friday night so we didn't really see much. The beds were horrible. The old fold out metal frames where you can feel the metal bar in the middle because the mattress sucked!!! The next morning as we were walking to the lake we saw trash piles with old pieces of wood, tires, and other random stuff all around the grounds. We paid over 600 bucks for 2 nights and it was the worst weekend ever. You would think as much as people pay for the cabins they would at least get some decent beds in there. Will never go back!

I so love rustic cabins with a fireplace. It hailed (grappeled), snowed and rained on us! It was magical! All hubby and son wanted to do was fish...and boy, did they! I was out to cheer them on but was grateful to go back to the cabin to bake some brownies and make hot cocoa for them when they got back. I sat by the fire with my dog most of the time and it was glorious. The place is clean, organized and well taken cared for, for being built in the 1930's (the one we stayed in anyway). You can find anything you need in the little kitchenette. I did buy a Lodge pan at Walmart since the pans, which are fine, are not what I'm used to. The trouts they caughtweres super healthy due to the well taken cared for lake and surroundings. Can't wait to go back again.
