We havent even started our trip to the Wanderloo yet and I had several questions which can be so annoying to staff. Rodd was the sweetest and went out of his way to answer my questions about parking, room accommodations, the trolley and parking. He was just so friendly and polite. He went out of his way to make sure our trip is going to be great! Ill post again after the weekend but I know were going to be in good hands with this staff if they are anything like Rodd!

I was excited for my upcharged, renovated, king room, but it was a let down. First, whether carpet spray or room deodorizer, it smelled so strongly perfumed I almost left. I had to open front and back door and run fan for a while to get it out. The room was crazy dark, dim cobwebed Edison lighting, the flattest pillows I've ever seen, minimal small bedding. Ask for street level room or you have to go up a spiral staircase to get upstairs. While the bathroom reno is clean, the 12"x18" little mirror is the only one in the room. With the cool Gravel Bar next door, there needs to be a good get ready space if not 2 spaces ( a second mirror outside the bathroom for your travel companion to get ready). Cute smoking patio out the back with access to seasonal pool. Not the most handicap friendly area, lot is uneven and they make you sign a waiver that you won't sue if injured. The layout of the room isnt functional, fridge & microwave across the room from table, no space for prep, no luggage rack or place to put 1 suitcase let alone 2. I rarely checkout early on these review trips, but this one was so uncomfortable I hit the road hours early. While The Gravel Bar is definitely worth a stop, the Wanderoo logo is cute, and the area is gorgeous, my room left a lot to be desired. Staff at The Grave bar were great, very welcoming. Lots of instructions from the owners of how they want you to handle yourself during your stay. Huge weak spot in the floor by nightstand too, felt like carpet was the only thing keeping my foot out of the room downstairs. I love the effort here to try and revamp an old motel, the trees and staff are so beautiful, but either I got a dud of a room or there is still much to do to improve on a quality guest room. Random note: They use a unique digital key. They again have you sign a waiver that if you get locked out they'll charge you $50 to get your room locked for you. Rooms: Leave the fan on to drown out the parking lot noise 3 feet from your door. Pillows were barely and inch thick. Minimal bedding and lighting, poorly laid out for functional use. Heady chemical perfume smell had to blast air and hope doors to make it tolerable. They use a unique digital key. They again have you sign a waiver that if you get locked out they'll charge you $50 to get your room locked for you. Nearby activities: Overlook at Inspiration Point get in a clear day only. Blue Springs is great for lots of photo ops for family, senior photos or wedding/engagement. Takes less than an hour to go through. Safety: Not the most handicap accessible for mobility challenged individuals. They even make you sign a waiver to protect themselves from their uneven parking lot. Using a wheelchair on this property wiuld be challenging to say the least. Poor interior lighting, lights in lot wasn't bad. Not sure if they have handicap friendly rooms, doorways and bathroom space in my room were all narrow. No handle grips in shower. They use a unique digital key. They again have you sign a waiver that if you get locked out they'll charge you $50 to get your room locked for you. Walkability: If you have issues with unlevel lots, stairs or graveled areas, this isnt the one for you. You can walk across the small parking lot to the Gravel Bar ( highly recommend) pool access by stairs Food & drinks: The Gravel Bar run by the same owners across the parkling lot serves food and drinks with live music on the weekends. No breakfast on site. Noteworthy details: Pool is seasonal and outdoors, accessible by stairs. Everything here is riggt on top of each other, out the back looks over a bed and breakfast, the bar is a driveway away. Lots of beautiful vista bluff views in this area but you don't have one at this hotel. The staff and community here was the best part of the stay.

Two stars? Well, I'll admit, I'm intrigued. Though your review lacks specifics, I can only assume it reflects your unique perspective. You're entitled to your opinion, however enigmatic it may be. Here at Wanderoo Lodge, we strive to satisfy even the most discerning of guests. If there's anything specific you'd like to share with us, feel free to reach out. We're always open to feedback, no matter how... cryptic.
