    On August 30, 2023 I paid $1205.74 for 6 months of auto insurance. In the beginning of December I began to receive notices stating that my vehicles insurance was not reported to the DMV and that my cars would be suspended if not reported. I tried reaching out and never got a reply nor a call back. January 23, 2024 I finally got in touch with someone and they stated Laura was on vacation. I asked for 90 days? They stated yes and then proceeded to leave me on hold for over an hour. I hung up and called back. There was no info to give me and promised as soon as they had some they would call me back. January 24, 2024 I called again and Laura was back from vacation. Laura stated that my insurance was cancelled due to a $15.65 balance. From what? How come no one got in touch with me? She then explained she took my money and bought me a policy through Mapfre insurance. She stated that they had mailed me a check for $1095 and that I did not cash it. Well duh? I never received a check. I asked why she bought a different policy. I believed my insurance was through them. She said no. I asked where is all of my money. Laura explained $75 was due to me using my debit card and almost $120 for her fee for getting different insurance. Excuse me? Why was I not told this? She had no answer. Furthermore, I asked why I was not contacted over the $15 or why they did not pay it out of what they kept? No check was received at my physical address because my mailing address is a PO Box. Again, Laura had no answer to my questions. I explained my questions are only going to get harder and that she had made a grave mistake. She laughed. At that point, I could tell she did not feel accountable. Laura also stated Why diddn't Mapfre just bill me? January 25, I called Mapfre directly and was told that September 13, 2023 Mapfre was given $1017.38. The same day, Mapfre reached out to Laura and explained in writing an additional $15.65 was necessary for a six month policy. Mapfre never received a response. Sept. 23, 2023 Mapfre closed the policy and held onto the funds because their business was with Laura. They explained that on January 23, they received a call from Laura demanding they open the old policy and they stated they wouldn't and couldn't. A check was never mailed. They held my money until January 25, 2024 and that the check was mailed to my PO Box AFTER Laura called and gave them the update. I believed I had auto insurance. Five months later I found out I did not. If you read the reviews, the good ones are all family or work there. The poor reviews are the real reviews. If they actually cared about their customers, it would show. The immediate behavior during my debacle proves who they really are. They are unprofessional, uneducated individuals that committed fraud against me and are not worried about any consequences. This is far from a little mistake. I have filed with Ca Dept of Insurance. I hope they shut them down. They are not interested in fixing their mistakes. UPDATE: Nicole with Stewart's called me about my review and stated she "didn't really care since we have insurance". Well that is great you have insurance, I don't and that is where the issue comes into play. Nicole also stated they are now "doctoring/forging" their documents to show the Ca Dept of Insurance. Stewart's never provided me a receipt for this transaction. Nicole now claims they charges me $75 broker fee and they stole/misplaced the additional $120. Nicole has thrown Laura under the bus claiming "she doesn't know how to read" and "what Laura said is a lie". The forged documents make them look worse than they already did. Don't underestimate what evidence others have supplied. Good job Stewart's employees! You are making my job easy!
