Brandon is exactly what you want in a tax guy. He is very detail oriented, honest and ethical and treats you like a human not just another tax client. I've used PenCoast Tax for 8 tax seasons now and can't recommend anyone better.

I cannot personally recommend Brandon anymore since he transferred to Howes. He has given an apathetic attitude toward our taxes which has resulted in a penalty in paying to the IRS.

My initial meeting with PenCoast was terrific. I was coming from a tax preparer with whom I had lost trust, and Brandon bragged that he'd made hundreds of thousands of dollars doing work similar to mine while skillfully keeping the IRS at bay. He promised clear communication with text, e-mail, and his documentation platform.I left feeling elated and immediately set up a meeting in a week's time with the IRS to start resolving my situation. To stay low-key, I onboarded to his doc platform and sent a simple message - "I'm heading in to meet with the IRS, is there anything I should know before I go?"No response. I sent another on the platform with that question a few days later, and with no response there, I sent an e-mail. Still nothing. So I rescheduled the meeting and tried one more time to touch base before going downtown.I was completely unprepared for Brandon's eventual reply - a blistering paragraph that told me not to expect immediate responses, and that he was overwhelmed with hundreds of clients and corporate tax season deadlines.Then after claiming to have read my messages, he wrote, "Is there a question here?" I received that an hour before my rescheduled IRS appointment. It was clear I'd be going it alone.I've received no responses since, although I was kept on the Pencoast mailing list, where he continued to write about how overwhelmed he was and the hundreds of calls he had to return. I can honestly say I have never been made to feel as unimportant as a client as I did with Brandon.I'm glad to see that others had good experiences with PenCoast, but mine was a humiliating and ultimately significant setback in resolving my situation.

Brandon and his team are amazing. I won't go to anybody else. Taxes and accounting are frustrating yet Brandon always gives me clarity and just fully takes care of everything. He helps me avoid making mistakes that cost me, and helps me sort out decisions that benefit my business.
