My daughter (first kid) goes here and I’ve really seen her become more comfortable with other kids and parents over the last year. It’s a really safe environment with lots of interesting activities to help the kids and parents learn. They also have parent education events in the evenings which span a pretty wide range of topics which were interesting for me as a first time Dad. It is a co-op, which means that it requires some parent participation - this takes some time but also helped me get to know some of the other parents and as a result to build and become part of the community. There are also social events which are fun as well. Really glad that we found Little hands!

My son and I joined Little Hands for the Babies Class when he was 6 months old. As someone who does not have family in the area nor friends who are having kids right now, it has been a great experience to build a community of families in the area with little ones the same age. Beyond the group of families we've connected with, we've been able to watch our son as well as other babies grow throughout the year. My son has learned a lot from observing, having a new space to explore other than our home, and being guided by lots of supportive parents. My husband and I have also taken a lot away from talking with other parents (some of 2-3 kids already), and the teacher led discussions. We're already signed up for next year and are looking forward to more developmental milestones and new families to befriend!

I wish I knew about Little Hands when my son was 6 months old! What a supportive community that fosters positive parenting and child development. We first attended the summer session in 2015 when my son was 15 months old, and I quickly enrolled him into the Fall program. This is a co-op, which means parents and families share many responsibilities to run the school. We clean after class, take turns with bringing snacks, volunteer at events, and have specific "jobs" to keep the school going. It is a big commitment, but it also builds community. It's not a program for everyone, just like there isn't one type of parenting, but Little Hands works for my son and me. He enjoys going to "school" and we have made friends and do activities outside of the program. Also, he naps FABULOUSLY on the days he attends-- WIN! :)
