This is gross incompetence or willful ignorance on her part as a fiduciary to perform her job. She had no problem collecting a fee to take the client on.
It is inconceivable to me how she thought it was okay to not inform her clients, who trust in her to properly take care of their taxes while on travel to mention this simple fact about penalties and fees on taxes owed on for before April 15th.
There was no defense when confronted about this over the phone. Her manager agreed to release the documents as well and agreed she did not do her job. If this was not caught there would have been a penalty of 25% and loads of paperwork and headache.
I would not trust Vida or H&R to handle any taxes.
