U-Haul Moving & Storage of Chatsworth

After having some difficulty trying to get the right size truck for my reservation while going through the call center. I was able to walk into this location and get exactly what I wanted with no problem at all. The manager Harold was extremely kind and helpful and had me set and out of there in a few minutes.

Rented a pickup truck, advertises 19.95 a day, I was told my first 100 miles were free, they also told me the tank was higher than it really was, they said 5/16 when it was 1/4. I paid $170 for about 8hrs of use. And only drove 120 miles. Returned truck within less than 24hrs. False advertising and tried to scam me on fuel.

These people nearly killed me. They gave me a U-Haul. When I got in the vehicle the check engine light was on. Shouldve been a deal breaker then. I asked the clerk and he said it was okay and that was due to aftermarket catalytic converters used since they get stolen often. I explained I was going for a really long drive and couldnt have anything go wrong. He assured me nothing would happen and I went on my way. A hundred miles in I got to fill up since it was nearly empty (second red flag). When I went to fill up I noticed liquid under the vehicle. When I looked down. It was gasoline. They gave me a a car with fuel lines cut. I was covered in gasoline trying to somehow hold this thing together while I filled up. No one from U-Haul ever contacted me. I explained over the phone and explained at the drop off site. Not one call back. Not one sorry. U-Haul you should be embarrassed and ashamed you didnt even look over the vehicle before giving it to me.

I had an after hours pickup and it was blocked by another truck. This caused me to lose valuable time and money. Someone had one job and they couldn't park it anywhere else?! When we returned at opening I had to wait and there was no priority to help me and no apology for their mistake. Unsympathetic. There was no credit to my account and I will have to call customer service again for them to fix this. Update.. 10 stars for the manager Timothy. The most knowledgeable uhaul employee.

This move has been a tough one. Timothy really helped through these tough times with his kindness, professionalism and going beyond for his customers. He really takes care of people and is a great human being. Thank you!
