California Short Sale Solutions

We knew nothing of the Short Sale process and they educated us and walked us through the whole process. Jared Zamost was our representative with the company. He did an excellent job of listing our home and setting up appointments with buyers. Our home sold quickly and then Jared was our representative with the mortgage company in the escrow process. California Short Sale Solutions did an excellent job of representing us in a complicated process that allowed us to move on with our lives.

I called this company to ask a few questions, and after having to explain what a loan assumption was to the representative, Jared, he was able to answer my question in a friendly and professional manner. I took his information down and said I'd get in touch with them once I had made a decision to proceed, making a point of not leaving my number, because I did not wish to be contacted. The next day, someone by the name of Matt (I've since learned Matthew Freeland is the owner of this company) called me back to see if all of my questions had been answered. Not only was I a bit surprised, since I had never given Jared my phone number, but then Matt had the audacity to begin to argue with me and tell me I should have taken care of my concern years ago. Keep in mind, he had no idea what possible business I was bringing to him! He did not know what a loan assumption was either (which I find surprising, especially since he made a point of telling me he had been in the real estate business for "over a decade"), and basically just wanted to insult me and then hang up on me when I told him that I didn't think he was qualified to comment on my situation. I called the company back and spoke with Jared again, who began apologizing on Matt Freeland's behalf (even saying that Matt had a newborn at home, which, to Jared, could begin to excuse Matt's appalling behavior). Jared's apologies were nice, and Jared was very professional (Seems to me that Jared has better people skills than his boss does), but it's not his job to cover for his Matt Freeland's awful people skills. I had been satisfied just speaking with Jared, but when the owner calls who they think is a potential client just to argue with them and insult them and then hang up on them when they tell him that he's not qualified to comment on the nuances of the situation, there's a problem. Bottom line, I have serious concerns about the professionalism of this company, and would not recommend them to anyone.
