Incompetence  The crew and manager didn't take our job seriously, and contaminated the majority of our home.  Asbestos abatement professionals are supposed to know how to handle hazardous waste so it doesn't leak and contaminate the environment.  One of the demo guys actually tried to assure me that it was no big deal because the building materials often contain less than 5% of asbestos.  Um... what did they think we were paying for!?  When I spoke to the manager about my concern he said "we removed the asbestos from your home" like he was saying that they did their job well, and my response was "we hired you to remove it without contaminating the home" which he was almost surprised about.  I was truly shocked that it took them time to wrap their heads around this.  Asbestos abatement is designed to prevent contamination in the surrounding environment, not just remove the materials with asbestos and let the rest fall wherever.  They did clean up the mess, but part of that process unfortunately meant we lost the majority of our things in our home since our items were also contaminated and could not be cleaned.  We've had to pay out of our own pocket to try to piece back our home and they have offered no compensation.  This is unfair and I strongly urge customers to find abatement services elsewhere, where they know what they are doing, and will do the job to the high standards they are contracted to do.
