image After 27 years of my parents living here, it took R.A. Snyder, the new apartment owners and new management to finally convince themselves to leave. What use to be a beautiful and comfortable home and complex has turned into the worst! The management is by far the worst we've seen! Trudy and her husband have no compassion for their tenants what so ever. Her husband walks around bossing everyone around and he has no authority to do so given his WIFE is the manager. You have to be constantly nagging them to get something fixed. There's no visitor parking. The new pool rules suck! The new playground is unsafe. The apartment buildings use to be a beautiful white and blue with grass everywhere and now there's absolutely no grass. The manager and her husband are so cold and unfriendly... they won't even say good morning. They make living there very uncomfortable. Their work repairs are half ass done and not clean at all!Definitely wouldn't refer anyone to live here anymore!

image I had to sign up on Yelp just to review this horrendous apartment complex. In Short:It may look tempting at first, but as a long-term tenant about to move out, I advise you to look elsewhere immediately. A corrupted (but not immediately obvious) landlord that abuses her position is all you will see here, until this place gets new management.Full Review:This was a decent place to live when I moved here about a decade ago; fair landlord, good rates, beautiful landscape and color schemes for the buildings. It all went downhill when the new landlord, Jolinda Miner and her family took over. I knew things were taking a dive when Jolinda converted the recreational room near the mailboxes into her own storage room. This was done without any say from the tenant community. Things only got worse from there. The apartment buildings were in a beautiful sky blue and white color scheme, as you can see here in old Google Maps photo: google.com/maps/@32.7876…You might need to move the Street View date further back on the slider if you're seeing the current ugly brown color scheme. If you look to the left, you can see the painters painting on the new brown color scheme. The buildings were regularly cleaned to maintain its bright blue and white colors, which made them look very beautiful! But when Jolinda took over, she decided to stop cleaning the buildings, and to paint them brown to mask the dirt and mud buildup. You might also notice that all of the fields were full of real grass in old photos. Well, recently Jolinda decided to rip out most of the grass (leaving only the middle area alone) and replace everything with dirt and wood chips. This was done to save money on landscaping costs she says. Again, this was done without any say from the tenants. So if you just moved in and were expecting soft and beautiful grass for your kids to play on and to have picnics, think again.Which leads me to another maintenance issue that Jolinda refuses to put money into, and to have the tenants pay for. The water heaters and toilets in most of the complex are outdated. Jolinda said there was a high amount of water usage from everyone, and sent out maintenance crews to inspect everyone's plumbing. During these inspections, I heard one of the workers say that the water heaters were from the early 1990's and had an abundant amount of soot and grime built up around them. You literally need to leave the water running for 5 minutes before you can notice any hot water coming in. I am not exaggerating. I've seen Jolinda employ a devious tactic: Before a potential buyer comes in to inspect a dwelling, Jolinda will "prime" the hot water by leaving the faucets running before anyone comes in. So when a buyer comes in and tests the water, they get instant hot water!Jolinda's solution to this was to not replace anything, but to charge tenants an extra $25/mo fee.Jolinda also abuses her power as the landlord. She removed the handicap parking spot at the driveway entrance, stating that she wanted to move it to a more convenient location right in front of the Manager's Office so people can easily reach her. Sounds like a noble move, right? Wrong, she conveniently has a handicap parking placard, and uses that to park in the handicap parking spot that's RIGHT NEXT to the Manager's parking spot. Her family is quite healthy and can walk on their own two feet. No one is disabled or crippled in her family. Why does she do this? So she can have another personal parking space to have people move and store things into her storage room that was once the recreational room. Not a smoker? Well, if you live in any of the complexes next to Jolinda's, that's all you will smell all day. Her entire family smokes, even her two kids. They smoke in the patio right next to the main office. Her kids and husband smoke all over the grounds, and leave their cigarette butts laying around. She also plays favorites. If you're not on Jolinda's good side, you're on her bad side. Anything that happens between you and her, or you and other tenants, she will immediately jump on you and call the cops on you. No questions asked. She's very passive aggressive, you won't know she's that way until it's time for her to show her true colors. And I don't even know her or her family personally, yet I've witnessed the full brunt of this unprofessional behavior. This behavior is probably why Sunwest Management (the management company for Washington Village) still keeps her employed. She hides her true intent and manipulation very well. Which is why you will likely think moving in is a good idea, until you've signed the lease and moved in for a bit and regret it all.I'm not a huge Yelp reviewer or anywhere else. I'm doing this as a service and to warn other potential tenants about a devious landlord's conniving ways.Good luck in your apartment search! Just don't look here.
