Lo-Har Senior Living

I'd like to preface the 3 stars with the hopes that I can edit this review later with 5 stars because this facility has so much potential. Unfortunately it has fallen short of our expectations in terms of consistency with care and cleanliness. There have been umpteen challenges with a shortage of staffing and properly administering meds for the residents (my elderly mom included) since at least 2022. Sandwiches and chips passed as "dinner" is not ok for the $4k or more per month these folks' insurance pay or how we paid out of pocket for months. You have to beg for cleaning of cottages, the phone lines down for 5+ months and the emergency pulls are disabled. With new management (again) we can only hope for the best. Better salaries may help recruit better workers. They all work tirelessly at a job that is HARD!! They deserve to get paid a living wage that allows for compassion and dedication. Until then I feel things will stay the same until my mom passes there. Sad.

Lo-Har is a wonderful facility.  The staff is amazing and so very caring.  Our father spent the last 2.5 years of his life there and he and the staff worked so well together and they adored him. He was in the memory care section. I would recommend Lo-Har to anyone that is in need of a loving, caring and supportive facility to care for a loved one.

I've written many reviews but the one I'm about to write is the most important of all. My mom has been in four different assisted living homes. I've never felt complete with any of them until Lo-Har. The entire staff is warm, kind and caring. I truly believe they enjoy caring for my mom. They let me know if she's having a good day or a bad day. My mom is comfortable at Lo-Har where she wasn't in the previous homes. I wholeheartedly believe it's the way they treat her and communicate with her that makes her feel comfortable. The whole staff is so nice. Kandy administration, Louisa the activities director, Amy the wellness director, Jenna the med tech, Adriana runs the kitchen, and all the rest Katie, Carol, Nancy, Annabelle Samantha and the ones I'm missing.
