The Crack Shack - Encinitas

Very overpriced fast casual dining for an average tasting fried chicken sandwich. My wife and I were looking for a low stress toddler friendly place after visiting the botanical gardens and walking around for nearly 3 hours. This is kid friendly, but completely the opposite of low stress/relaxing. Parents ignore their children and you end up just having to hover around your toddler to make sure theyre safe from the other kids throwing sand, cups, utensils, etc. Not enough to do to keep kids occupied without getting into trouble. Also, their giant chickens leg is cracked and its about to fall over.

Much more than just organic and conscience-free KFC. We go for the Big Flock and Baja Chop for a takeout but fun to eat in too. Imaginative selection of chicken sandwiches, salads. Drinks too. Kid-friendliness: Play areas to keep them entertained.

Just a heads up, though if you prefer a quieter dining experience away from the traffic, this might not be the spot for you as it's located next to a busy street. Overall, if you're in the mood for a laid-back atmosphere with decent chicken and plenty of space for the kids to run wild, this restaurant is definitely worth checking out. We'll be back for more family fun!
