Came here to avoid Memorial ER in Long Beach and it was a great decision. UCI helped us immediately and took my fiancs pain level seriously, I had multiple er nurses checking to make sure he had enough pain medication to ease his symptoms. Despite being busy and stressed, the staff was friendly and worked quickly. You can tell they care about their patients and want to treat everyone who comes through their doors. The woman at the front check in desk is phenomenal and so sweet, she kept checking on my fiance and doing things to make him smile.

I sat in the waiting room and watched a NURSE AND a doctor being rude and disrespectful to patients while I was there for almost 11 hours and given minimal medication for my emergency issue. Was spoken to by a doctor ONE Time After being there NINE HOURS!!!!! This hospital is home to cell phone/ instagram nurses who couldn't care less about how you feel and what you're going through. If you have an emergency and are able to go to ANY OTHER hospital in southern California PLEASE do so. Fountain Valley should be the absolute last resort if you need assistance with an emergency. Waste of time and money just to basically be told to f off. So completely disappointed.

Being young, Ive only had one health issue. I was about to grab dinner when I started feeling a wave of dizziness Ive never experienced before. I told my boyfriend and he quickly got me here. We checked in and they chalked it up to me likely just having gas. I barely remember what happened since I was passing out, but I remember they had me wait next to a women whom looked homeless and seemed to be either on drugs or coming down from them. We both were in agony for around 4 hours in the waiting room until I decided to go to bathroom. Then I actually passed out, and I finally was able to lay out on the floor. I remember nurses telling me to get out so I eventually opened the door and thats when they finally checked me into the ER. Turns out I was passing a kidney stone, so they gave me a round of morphine and after an hour they released me. I eventually got a bill for $14,000 in medical expenses. This was about 15 years ago so this was a large amount of money to pay as a 25 year old and it put me in debt for years to follow. Fun times and impeccable service!
